allstarbanshee
Hey guys thanks for the "positive feedback" you know who you are. all I was asking was what were those ports? now I know primary and secondary transfer ports. Ive been around 2 stroke engines all my life, but am fairly new to the Banshee scene, therefore the inside of a banshee cyclinder is much different than other cyclinders of 2 strokes ( mainly outboard boat motors) as far as the actual porting ive done homework on it and talked personally to several ppl. I knew what to expect and had diagrams of some finished products, and I must say im very pleased with my outcome thus far, I should make my intial test run this weekend, im having the head milled as we speak. Ive got approx 20-25 hours into my cyclinders. and am expecting a world of diff. Thanks to those who have gave encouraging words of wisdom to a fellow shee rider. ill post my new track times up next monday hopefully. MIKE187
Banshee cylinders are very similar to all my 2 stoke cylinders off of my mx bikes. I am under the impression that ports in a 2 stroke are like a cam in a car. You will get different types of power depending on how you open your ports. Making a port longer will make your motor act different compared to making them wider. I am sure you will see a difference in your motor if you port it yourself. Whether it is a good change will remain to be seen. I personally would not attempt porting myself, without being willing to take the risk of messing up your cylinders.
