4stroker
what needs to be done to the barrels/head/pistons when running a 4mm crank in the banshee? What does the 4mm refer too? Is it the measurement of how far they move the big end journal away from the center of the crank? Does 4mm stroke mean the piston travels 2mm lower than normal and 2mm higher as well? Or is it 4mm and 4mm?? What alterations do you need to do to the ports? Will the head automatically need cutting when running a stroker so the pistons don

Bansh-eman
very good explanation
.
everything is good with that explanation except for the blaster piston thing. People used blaster pistons before wiseco came out with the 795's. Using the blaster pistons means you'll have to bore your top end out to .080 over I believe? and once it gets to .10 its time for new sleeves. Go with the 795's and you'll get more lives out of your top end.
jbooker82
Yea you will uses 795 series pistons. I run blaster pistons because my cylinders needed resleeved. I had them resleeved with sleeves that start at 66mm. (stock blaster pison) And the sleeves final bore is 68.25mm. The blaster pistons are a little shorter too. about .
4stroker
so what would the engine run like with a 4mm crank and stock porting? what exactly do they do to the ports, do they all get lowered 2mm and raised 2mm or something? thanks all the info so far! mark. Running a 4mm stroker with stock ports is going to defeat the purpose of getting a stroker crank to begin with. If you are still running stock cylinders, then maybe a little port work would be better for you, before the stroker crank mods, unless you plan on doing it all at once. A stroker adds more torque, and HP. You will gain a little with stock ports, but you're going to be leaving a lot of torque and HP untapped, because of the lack of porting for the 4mm stroker crank. If you want to know what all is involved with the porting, then you need to call one of the builders that do the port work, but don't be surprised, if you don't get told everything. Port work isn't a "simple job", that anyone can do, and it takes some specialized tools. It's expensive, and time consuming. Jeff at FAST Racing would be one to call, and talk to about the porting ?'s. Edited June 28, 2007 by fastbanshee8
