KFX 50 for sand?

Recommended Posts

I have a neighbor selling a KFX 50, it's been sitting for over a year. I want to know if this 50 will move in the sand. I have a POS 70cc China junk, when we went to Glamis it couldn't even move, not tire spinning or nothing! My boys (4 & 6 years old) need something for the sand.

What do you guys think about the KFX 50, do they sell paddles for them?

take the clutch off your 70cc china POS and drill some 1/8 or 1/4" holes in the clutch weights to lighten them up. That will put the poop back in your POS! haha... yeah one holeshotin' POS

I would say that 50 should still move in the sand. Maybe even pretty good! if not put a single stock banshee carb on it and a slip-on pipe. It's pretty cheap to soup those mini-quads up. Just keep an ebay frame of mind.

Stay away from the 50's in the sand. I bought my sister one when she was 3, we did a pipe, custom intake, ported, raised the compression, and a set of skat traks, still wasn't happy. We ended up selling it and getting a good old LT80, you can't beat them. Trust me you will be happy in the end!!!

My little ones started on a LT-50.Good around camp and thats it.Go with an 80 or 90 and just turn it down. The 50's are only good on compact surface.Youll be constantly unsticking the bike.

what he said. i'v done everything to my kids 50 and he still cant go in the soft stuff. he has to be on hard surfaces or have a running go at the soft stuff but if he lets off. here comes daddy to dig him out. no mind you my kids 50 is an 84 model w/ all the up to date mods. i just a couple of weeks ago let him try out the beefed up lt80. he's hooked. now my 2 have to share. looking to get another 80 now. just had a new kiddo on the 10th of this month now the 50 will sit till she can go with the boys

my nephiew has a raptor 80 and its got plenty of power for sand. you just have to aire the tyres down to about 1.5psi. otherwise it gets stuck. but at 1.5psi it can climb sand hills and pretty much go anywhere my banshee can, but the raptor is obviously alot slower thats all.

its got JUST enough power that i can wheelie it and spin donuts in first gear, but barely. and im 250lbs. i must look like a circuis gorolla on that thing hahaha.
