sled
is their anyway to tone down the hit of the banshee's powerband? i dont wanna lose any power. i just want it to come on smoother. i ride alot of woods and farm feilds. everytime i hit powerband out in the feilds my shee just wants to loop around. it starts spinning the tires real hard. its starting to piss me off now and im wishing i still had my LT250r. the guy who had it before me raced flat track with it, so im not sure if its got something to do with the way the engine is set up or what. its got hole shots on the rear right now and they do nothing. any help would be great thanks. KaosBanshee44
I would sell it and get a 4 stroke, no way your tuning down a powerband
NYUK
it may be ported, you gotta give us some info on how it is set up, porting, carbs, reeds, ect, pipes.then we can help you detune it.
MarineNYC
What a pussy. Sorry bro had to say it. You were going to get it sooner or later.
Bansh-eman
you can change the gearing to smooth it out some but your still going to have a power band to some extent.. its just going to move it up or down. like Nyuk said list whats done,

blak banshee
Maybe you could throw stock pipes on it. If the timing isn't advanced you could could then advance it and regear it for low end. Then you would have more low end and less of a powerband. The powerband is the nature of the beast and thats why most people buy them! sled
What a pussy. Sorry bro had to say it. You were going to get it sooner or later. i ride a CRF450 most of the time, im far from a pussy bud. ive smoked every banshee ive ever raced on that thing. i dont think you understand. im getting beat by my 350x because this thing spins so bad. you've gotta ride the shit outta the clutch to get it moving. a friend took it for ride and said he was pretty sure its been ported out. he said it was nothing like his old one. i think im gonna take it apart and rebuilt it with the other jugs. i know what 2 strokes are like. i had 87 LT250R with a bunch of work and mild porting. .
you want low end and a smooth powerband hit listen carefully. All I ride is woods and If I had a strong powerband hit, I'd probably be off a cliff by now and dead. I run adjustable LRD's and swear by them, best trail pipe out there in my opinion. Do a search, I've got on a soap box a million times about them. What kind of pipe is on there? Figure you could start with the pipe and see if that corrects it, and if not, then go into the engine

If he raced flat track hes got a top end power emphasis, pull off the head and mesaure the tip of the exhaust port from the top of the sleeve/bore. Let us know. RNBRAD
I just think you need a better tire. Something like some cut knarly's where they will hook with the spin. Your tires are probably spinning so fast they don't have the spacing between the knobs to dig down. Honestly I think your best and cheapest fix at this point would be a tread change. dajogejr
If it spins that bad....I wouldn't go messing with the engine. Get tires and gear it properly as said.... You've ridden two strokes before, but this is probably your first without a powervalve, and that makes a big difference in low end...or lack thereof. Honestly...sell it and get a four stroke. If you're riding in that tight and slippery of conditions...you're only going to nueter the shit out of that bike....and by then it's pointless to have a bike designed to scream at 10 or 11,000 RPM...not be lugged at 4 or 5.... How easy is it to screw the motor up by running lower rpm's? jw. Thanks.
