peterlocal22
here you go search "YFZ450 A-arms and Works custom shocks" you will find the shock measurements, make sure you se the ones with the banshee soindles. although i would recomend going with the 450 soindles and hubs. goodluck
bansheeyfz
i cant afford buying new shocks. if i gt the spindles will it raise the front ?
bansheeyfz
so if i get the spindles and hubs. my banshee will sit roughly 3 inches higher than it sits already?
Wagonz
putting the spindles and hubs on wont raise the height, but they allow for longer shocks that could raise the ride, with the standard spindles & hubs 400 length shocks can be used and are 1/2in longer than the yfz, just depends how high you want it that is with 16 5/8 custom shocks with yfz spindles & hubs, about same length as 450r, but standard 450r can't be used Edited June 19, 2007 by Wagonz
bansheeyfz
gotcha. for Everyone running this setup, did your banshee sit lower after the install how did you fix that?
Mullet Man
those shocks are almost 1" longer then YFZ (~15-3/4") the majority of people just deal with the tad bit lower height. i suspect the majority of people also use stock height tires (21"). how far down do you have the ride height adjusting nuts for the spring? Nitmare67
I am also curious about where most people have their shocks adjusted. I have my ride height adjusting nuts down about 1" and it still seems way to soft and and low for me. Where is a good starting place for the other shock adjustments too. My shocks are off of an 06 yfz and have white springs if that matters.........
peterlocal22
gotcha. for Everyone running this setup, did your banshee sit lower after the install how did you fix that? the yfz spindles and hubs dont increase your ride height. the best way is to get longer shocks. look on ebay fior some shocks that are 16 1/2 inches long w ride height adjustibilty. also might want to get bigger tires in front. i know one guys running 23 inch and it helps bring the ride height way up. Mullet Man
my new shocks are '06 model, it is true that they ('06 shocks) do have on more coil on the spring then the '05's. my old shocks were '05 and they had 14 coils, the '06 i have now are 15 coil...however this does not effect the ride height at all, shee still sits at the same height. here is a pic of where mine are adjusted to... i have the stock tires up front, 21x7x10 Dunlops, they are worn a bit and have about half tread left. if you click to enlarge the pic, you can count the threads above the collars. Nitmare67
Hey I really appreciate the help. I will try adjusting mine down further to match yours more and see how it looks. If not then I may just buy some banshee arms and run the yfz shocks on them. I really need more ground clearance with the kind of riding I do. Thanks alot. Nitmare67
Wow I didnt realize just how much farther down I could go. I have mine down about the same as yours now and it already looks alot better and feels better. This looks like its going to be a pretty sweet deal after all. I just have to get my tie rods now. Thanks alot and I will let you guys know what I think once I take it for a ride next week.
