Are you using an outerware and are the filters properly oiled? I ask this because I went from a uni foam filter set up on my 99, now my sons, and I loved the foam set up. I check pretty thoroughly and I have yet to see anything after my K & N's. When I switched over I was real concerned about what you mention. I havent seen any debris to date.

Its a bumper to protect the sprocket, since I'm usually in front of everyone when I ride. J/K. It actually came in handy when I hit a tree and stopped short and my little guy ran into the rear of my bike at a pretty good clip. Bent the bumper a bit, didnt touch the sprocket/chain.

so is there a differance between a regular k&n and the pods power wise?

If you're asking about the single K & N vs the twin k & n's I honestly couldnt tell you. I did notice a difference from a single uni filter and outer ware to the pods. I think, 2 carbs need 2 filters.

Thanks for the info, still dont know what i want to do, i think the more protection the filter has the better esp. with the amount of silt in the area i ride i think it would be better keeping the airbox compared to taking it out and installing pods
