bada
Ok I had a problem with my shee burning off coolant.I was informed that it was most likley a o ring for my coolhead. So I just disasembled my head and the rings around my domes were smashed.I had these domes cut for my 4 mill.Where the o ring seats it had a hair line crack almost all the way around one of the domes with two broken pieces that i pulled off exposing the ring. The other dome was broken in a few spots. What is the purpose of this?Is it because they wasnt cut wright or what?Any help would be greatly appreciated.... Snopczynski
Need to find a builder that knows what he is doing. re-cut the new domes and check the squish to make sure its ok. Then check compression.
sheefreak
Did someone reputable cut them? If the squish angle and volume isn't right you could have deto problems which could have possibly caused the damage to the domes. Were the spark plugs ever backing out on you? bada
No they were brand new domes when the motor was built. They wer only cut once. And yes the right cylinder plug was backing out.One of my pistons were a little brown but not black. Is that a sign of detonation? bigboybanshee
The spark plug backing out is a good indication of detonation. What kind of gas are you running? Detonation can be caused by more than just an incorrect dome.

Snopczynski
You run reed spacers.
shanYE west
I dont run any reed spacers with my bowls and they clear the clutch arm fine. Might be running the bowls dry. I would say get a pump or at least some billet bowls. But I'm not real familiar with stock cylinders and alky either and how much fuel they'll use. Someone else will probably chime in. badassbanshee479
you do not have to run reed spacers on the cub cylinders, but on stock cylinders you do! do you happen to know if one of the floats has been cut off to allow more room for alky? are you running power jets?? how much timing and comp are you running? I would get some billet bowls! good piece of mind for sure!
bada
I looked at the floats they look stock, and yes I do run spacers but carb still rubs clutch arm.I had to bend it a little.Yes i am running poerjets and +7 timming 180 compression. Thanks

Then I would start with jetting. Do you know what your mains and tubes were drilled out to?
