I had no problems at all with the hush kit. but it seemed to rob some power. Didn't want to get into the power band that easy. My buddy's had the sparkys and he also got in with no problems and his seemed to run alot better.

Too be totaly safe get the hush but you will loose power IMO. But I don't think you would have any problems with the sparkys. If they say something too you just tell them it was your first time there. they will let ya by.

Last weekend I got my King quad in with my HMF pipe. It runs 101 DB lol

Agreed. Sooner or later, they're gonna make you start it...but I threw mine in the back, too...on Memorial weekend and they were slammed busy. Check for ORV, state park sticker...and sparkies.

Do yourself a favor, leave the sparkies on once you get in. Fellow rider has gotten popped two years in a row for getting in them taking them off right away...unless you don't mind a 150 dollar no sparky ticket...and the hassle.

Honestly...unless you have a full built drag bike, I wouldn't worry about a DB test. those four strokes are WAY louder than 2 strokes...they're gonna get DB'd first.

the hush kit is a spark arrestor.

The Hush Kit 2.5 is available with ($189.99) and without ($129.99) a spark arrestor.

Sounds like he/she has my kind of luck! That is why I will be using a hush kit this summer at the Coral Pink Dunes, and I also plan on using it at Dumont, etc. (or at least have it with me) this fall to avoid the headache. If someone is going to get nailed the day I go, it WILL be me!

I tried getting in without the hush kit and quickly got turned around..

Went back to the truck(in their parking lot) and threw it on in 2 minutes and cruised in with no problems at all.. I had the expensive one with the built in spark arrester, although they never checked it for that, think they just assume they are all arrested..

I agree the hush kit does rob you of power, even though toomey claims it doesn't.... POS

I have not purchased the hush kit yet, I am still debating whether to get the hush kit or two spark arrestors. After some thought, dajogejr has a good point about the 4-strokes, they consistantly seem to be the noisiest. Maybe I will just get the spark arrestors for now and the hush kit later, if needed for noise issues.

If i still had my toomeys and had to do it over again i would go for the spark arresters and leave the hush kit on the shelf to rot...

why do we need spark arrestors or a hush kit? i got the tr6's and wanna go up but dont have anything so im guessing i will be turned away

You need the spark arrestors because there is a fluke chance that a spark might ingnite a piece of drift wood in the middle of the sand dunes and create a forest fire!!

When ever I talk to some of the shops out in Cali and thell them we need spark arrestors in out dunes they start laughing.
