dajogejr
that is who gave him the 500 dollar tag.... Ray... Try Bob @ RB Racing outside of Lansing...he's very good and cheap too... PM here, his name is machwon. Remember, you get what you pay for....and 500 bucks for a complete tear down of the top and bottom end, inspect the crank, trans...etc., fresh top end including pistons.... If you could find it cheaper than 500....I'd be suspect of their workmanship....that's a helluva price...

wrecker03
Ditto the above. He did my top end and I can't complain 1 bit. Great guy to work with, and the price is right.

Great guy to work with, and the price is right. thanks for the advise! Yeah, I want a good job, Ive never paid to get one rebuilt before, so I want to make sure the $500 was on par I also wanted to trade some parts for work, jankab offered a partial trade, but has not responded to my last email, so I suspect that he would rather have the cash

Basically, in a nutshell...the parts you wanted to trade him are worth more to you to sell for ebay prices than his labor and parts he'd need to cover the build....and make it worth his while... No one works for free...but he damn near does, I swear... I'm not trying to stir a pot or anything...anyone on hear knows jankab and I are good friends....but we became good friends because of his honesty, work ethic and overall good nature. He's fun as hell to party with, too...LOL. I will even go out of my way to help, Ray... I live in St. Clair Shores, 12 and Harper area. If you dropped the motor at my house, I will get it to him. He lives in Canton, but works 2 miles from me. We meet up for lunch 2 to 3 times a week... When he's done, you can come pick it up from my house again... That's gotta save you some $$ and time instead of driving to him and/or shipping it. Between his work/prices and my offer to help out as best I can...if you can get a better offer than that, by all means you should jump all over it. I know I sure would!!! I know your A&S motor ran great for a long time, but Dan Hull is more swamped then ever after taking the record at PS drags a month or so ago...good luck getting a run of the mill, standard old banshee motor done by him any time soon...and anywhere near 500 bucks!!! EastCoast Banshee
Like the others said thats a good price if there doing all the work. If your doing it shouldn't cost any more than 160 for the piston kit and 90ish for the bore&hone.
dajogejr
I'm pretty sure that included tearing the bottom end apart and inspecting everything as well, including the crank/bearings, etc.

Here some old pics: Dajogejr, thanks for the offer, I will let you know ASAP Ray
