KaosBanshee44
Ok so i installed my TORS kit and everything is good, even looks good without all that BS on top of the carbs but to me it seems like it don't idle right. Almost shuts the bike down so whoever has the Motion Pro TORS Eliminator kit tell me how i can adjust the idle. Because it don't need to be adjusted that much just a hair. dajogejr
Warm the bike up...and the most important thing is making sure the carbs are in synchronization, both at idle and on the throttle. You can eyeball them, or buy a synchronizing tool that is the shit. Two things, did you disconnect ALL the wires from the old TORS? Including the parking break? And...did you grind the carb bosses flat so the idle screw goes in far enough to lift the slide for idle? Here's the ticket: http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=

I guess i need to grind the carb bosses flat then

KaosBanshee44
Well i ordered mine from Motion Pro and there was nothing in the kit that had idle screws. I guess i'm gonna have to order those seperate. Can someone take some pictures and point out where i need to drill tap, etc. Some pics will help if someone already has that kit on there bike. thanks
peak-j
I don't have any pics but I can tell you that when the carbs are on the four wheeler the idle screws will be facing the outside. There are two big holes in the sides of the carbs. that go straight in line where the slides for the carbs would be. The bosses are not flat and you have to file or grind them down, then they are drilled and tapped. You can buy the whole kit with screws, drill, and tap. You also have to take both carbs off, one at a time, take it apart before you do anything. Just make sure you don't drill the wrong holes because there are holes on the other side of the carbs too. Make sure you clean the carbs very well after this. Edited May 24, 2007 by peak-j
CMAC
I have never seen a tor elim kit that didnt come with idle screws and a drill bit with tap. I got my kit from vitos. Came with all the directions, including exactly how many mm off the side of the carb the boss had to ground to.
ClimbAnyHill
Motion Pro sells those same idle screws for a few bux a piece. See below where the drill bit is sitting in the actual hole to drill. It's that same surrounding surface that you need to flatten out. Since the car is alum It's soft and a regular file will work fine. That's what i used. If needed, any machine shop would do that job for you. I did my carbs on the drill press. Big gold screw goes right in that hole, that's the idle screw.. KaosBanshee44
Hmmm now i see what yall are talking about. I couldn't thank you enough for posting pictures and i'm also pissed off my kit didn't come with a drill and tap. I guess i'll go to the motionpro website and order that so i can get that installed also. If i have any problems finding that i'll let yall know. Once again thanks. dajogejr
That aluminum is so soft, a coarse scotchbrite pad on a die grinder will remove all you need to.
KaosBanshee44
Thanks guys, i went to motionpros website and figured out that there are different kits you can get when buying the tors removal system. I guess the one i got didn't come with the drill and tap so i went ahead and ordered the drill and tap kit for 22 bucks. Comes with drill, tap, two idle screws, lock nuts, and instructions. So once again if it wasn't for BHQ i would be stumped as to why my idle wasn't running the way i want it and should be running at.
dajogejr
No biggie...I've done it too. I ordered the Motion Pro kit from Magic...and it was missing the idle screws...I believe. Just caps, cable, drill and tap.

I have never taken tors off before and have to take my wifes off tomorrow night. Kit will be here at 6 tomorrow and I plan to have it all done saturday morning so all the info I can get is great. Those pics really show good where the idle screws go.
theshee
How much material needs to be taken off the bosses where the idle screws go. This is something I could do before I have all the parts just to get a head start. Also how many plugs are there that need undone? One on the throttle, e-brake, and one on each carb right? I have the vitos kit coming if that matters. Thanks Kaos-- not trying to steal your thread, just get info. Sorry for jacking the thread.
