shanYE west
That one is not the fast one. Must be someones copy. I have the fast kit and it is a great mod. I have Jeff's older version and its a pain in the ass to adjust. I think he switched to the alen head style now because BansheeDan's was different then mine. Dan's was ALOT easier to adjust then mine. Edited September 26, 2007 by Fouledout421
Twyztid
OK, but no one really answered my question yet. OK, so this is a good mod even for the average rider (no racing) and has REAL benefits? It's not just hype or a part needed for only racing? jbooker82
You want to get one like cascades's. Theres has the flat spots on the end of the adjuster. That way you can hold the adjuster while adjusting the clutch. You dont have to tear it appart twice. Other adjusters have the flat on the back side of the adjuster so you cant keep the adjuster from spinning while your adjusting it. The one you posted a link does have the flat spots outwards the end of the adjuster. So it should be good to go.
jbooker82
OK, but no one really answered my question yet. Yes it is a good mod. It will make your clutch pull smoother and it will keep the rod and ball from welding. It is not just a drag racing part.

It sucks when you have to pull your pressure plate off make the adjustment put it back on then put one spring in to check it.. and if its off.. well you gotta do it all over again.. I'll be gettin another one this winter. Edited September 26, 2007 by Fouledout421
Twyztid
Where do I get the Cascade one? I haven't been able to find it. So it is better than the F.A.S.T. one because the flat spots are on the front side? Is it #10 in this picture? Twyztid
Do you just have to pull the clutch pressure plate off to install this or is there more involved?
jbooker82
Yep all you do is pull the pressure plate off and swap out Part # 10 in the above pic. I would deffinatly get the cascade one. You want one with the flats on the out side so you dont have to tear it appart to make an adjustment. Here is a link to the cascade adjuster. Twyztid
I have a question. I just got done opening my case to see how my adjuster was set because it seemed off (from the previous owner). The stock adjuster was threaded almost all the way in and the tab on the lever on the left side was about 3/4" outside the tab on the case. I wanted to get the two tabs on the lever on the left side to line up. When the adjuster screw is turned clockwise, which way does the lever move? I already too mine apart because I wanted to check the condition of the clutch plates too. It seems that clockwise would move the lever towards the middle and counter-clockwise would move it to the outside. Is that correct? I am trying to figure out if something else is messed up to determine if I need anything else from Cascade. Thanks in advance. Kevin
FASTOYS
We carry both the Cascade one and another style ($5.00 cheaper, have to adjust from the backside). They both work good and hold up well. Guys its really not that hard to adjust the cheaper one and its only a one time and your done deal. BUT, if you have never done it the Cascade style might be easier. Kevin , if you want, call me in the morning and i will explain this all to you better if you dont understand. We keep everything you could possible need to get it setup correctly . FYI, Dont know which it is on that ebay link above but beware of pancake bearings made from aluminum (which it looks like it could be) as i have seen them wear very quickly! Twyztid
Thanks, Jeff. I will call you tomorrow. I had called today but you told me your tech lines were VERY busy so I really didn't get to talk to you. No problem... I will try again. I think you have it backwards. If you turn the philips screw counder clock wise your going to be screwing the screw out. That would move the arm twards the middle of the engine. If you turn it clock wise your going to be screwing the screw in witch would move the arm farther out on the LH side of the engine.
Twyztid
I ordered the Cascade adjuster from Jeff today along with some other parts. He was very helpful on the phone and I am sure I wil do more business with him in the future. It seems like the parts-buying never ends. I think I have spent about 20 minutes riding so far and about 25 hours working it since I bought it at the end of August. I usually do a complete look-over of anything I buy and take care of any potential problems right away. I think I should be good for a while once I get just a few more things straightened around. This forum has been VERY helpful so far.
