CRAZY-SHEE!
Ok.. i was looking around, and i saw alot of people are starting to favor a type of wheel called bead locks. I know this sounds dumb, but what are these things?i dont have them on my super-light 10 paddle haulers.. but i dont think i want them on my dune tires.. theyre not on my mohawks either. i was gonna get them on the new holeshot fronts and holeshot GNCC's on th rear... but i dont know if theyre worth the price... what are the advantage of these? are thyey worth it? i didnt get them on my sand tires, cause i think they might be heavy. So whats the good and bad on these things? also do you guys reccomend the holeshot GNCC's? what else should i get?
Hollister_Hitman
beadlocks are locks on rims that hold the tire on so the "bead" can't break. In other words it locks the tire onto the rim. Those rims have extra weight but they allow you to run really low tire pressure for added traction.
Bansh-eman
unless your running in a hard dirt track or racing where you might bump into other riders .. you dont need bead locks... we ran them on our open wheeled race cars becasue you slide through the corners... most recreational riders will never put the stress on a bead to have it seperate from the rim... id say save your money and bu something else.. CRAZY-SHEE!
i do race some compettetive flat track every other weekend out here on a local track a friend owns.. thats why he told me to look into these. last week i had to forfieght cause in lap 3 i slammed into my fiend and my tire came off and i trashed my rim. :/ nothing too too agressive, but we do hit each other sometimes. Not for money or anything, and its just with friends on days the track is closed. ( good to be buddys with the owner) so i was wondering which tires i should go with? ive heard good things about holeshot, heard they hook up nice. was gonna go with the GNCC's... also which beadlocks should i go with? the only things i can find are the ITP bead locks on RMATV. Are they good or should i go with something else? Edited May 18, 2007 by CRAZY-SHEE!

SoCalinIt
I'm a big fan of the OMF's... Best rim IMO.
