twohead80
i have a 99 banshee and when i ride it it runs good, then out of nowhere it stops running in the powerband and it doesnt rev. so i ride it around a little and then it works again it runs good now, then a day or so later it does it again. i thought maybe something was in the carb so i took it off and cleaned it and put it back on and then it didnt have any spark. i was ordering new carbs with the T.O.R.S removed and i got them and put them on and i had spark again but it wasnt that bright of a spark i got my coil tested and it was good. so then i rebuild it bc i was planing to anyways and i started it and it ran good. i was happy it ran good. so the next day i was gonna break it in so i ran it for 10 mins and shut it off and let it cool down and started it up and it would not rev again. then i looked around and moved stuff and then i try to start it and there was not spark. i was thinking a wire was broken and when i moved it it would stop working and then work again but it would have to jump the gap of it being broken and then jump the sparkplug gap so it wouldnt be as strong. what do u think i should look at or do? oh and when i take the sparkplugs out after it was running badly and not reving there would be white smoke that floats out of the cylinder. im not that sure what that means but i think it is that all the gas isnt getting burned out. chris1992
ah thats not good buddy... if your seeing white smoke, that means you have a coolant leak going into your cylinder. You need to remove the head and check the o rings or your gaskets and see where its leaking from. Look for any signs of leaking on the head. blowit
ah thats not good buddy... if your seeing white smoke, that means you have a coolant leak going into your cylinder. That white smoke is vaporized fuel and nothing to worry about. Sounds like you have a short in the harness or the rev limit circuit is coming in. There is a limit that closes when the park brake is on. If you have not removed that switch, it is on the handle bars at the clutch pirch. If that is not it, you need to run the bike at high idle and start jiggling wires, if there has been "custom" spicing in the harness, that is the very firto learn how to repeat the symptom and you should find your problem. You know I guess I would have to hear this rev limit but this could possibly the CDI. Check the simple stuff first Brandon Edited May 12, 2007 by blowit
Screaming Yellow Zonker
Did you remove any other part of the T.O.R.S. besides the carbs? Like the T.O.R.S. controller box or the P.B. switch???
