nunyabinness
ok i'm going to show my ignorance here but i am curious. when you look into the intake side of a cylinder you see the T shaped thing... what is it called? what does it do? and what would happen if you took out the verticle part? the reason i am asking is because i have a cylinder out in my garage that is missing that part of the casting and that part in the sleeve is cracked. so i'm wondering if that is now a junk cylinder or if i can just remove it or if it can be fixed cheaper than just buying new cylinders. Bansh-eman
are you reffering to the bridge? dont take it out... you take a huge chance that the piston wabbles and hangs the skirt on the edge of that...

Sounds like you had some piston slap or someone already took too much off the intake bridge. You MUST have it to make the motor last. It offers piston support and many porters like to make them razor thin which does little for flow, only make your cylinder weak. We see that crack at the bottom of the bridge a bunch when people run pistons too long. I am afraid new cylinders or sleeves are in your future.
