vtecjun Posted May 11, 2007 Report Share Posted May 11, 2007 I just installed my first clutch in the Banshee. I bought the billet basket, and clutch kit from Jeff. Everything is in and done but the clutch is not releasing. I can start the bike in neutral, but when I kick it down to first the bike dies. I know there is the adjustment on the pressure plate with the bolt but I followed the instructions in the manual and it still dies. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? Thanks in advance. Matt Did you soak your plates? If you feel resistance on the clutch lever like it is disengaging, you probably just have plates sticking together. I didnt know that you have to remove the factory O Rings when installing the aftermarket clutch. I removed them and it totally fixed the problem. Thanks for the help. Snopczynski Posted May 11, 2007 Report Share Posted May 11, 2007 (edited) there is probavly something you did without realizing it, the outer hub where the clutch springs bolt on is phased. If its not flat against the end clutch pack it will do what you described. You probably had it a notch off before, then removed it to take out the o-rings and put it back in the right spot.
