Bansh-eman
T-5's are great all around pipes. for the most part they are the number one pipe for a rider that isnt looking for drag or dune. they have great power throughout the whole powerband. Bansh-eman
no a 280 sounds small... when i ran fatties with my lid off on stock carbs i ran 320's .... also the pilot was 27.5 air screw 1.5 to 2 turns... needle 4th clip... for the float i want to say they are only 18 or 19...not 21... but im not possitive on that... edit: oh and thats for sea level to about 1000 Edited May 10, 2007 by Bansh-eman
KaosBanshee44
You can't NOT go wrong with Toomeys, all ya gotta do is strap em' on and go i don't think there is to much adjustments to do after installing them. For what i understand.
dajogejr
You guys are missing his point... If you run an airbox, with a lot of vents or the lid off, and run the Dynojet/Toomey needle, you are fine with those suggestions. Main could be a 270 to 290, depending on temps and elevation as well. The Toomey/Dynojet needle they sell in their "not so perfect" jet kit is longer with more taper, and it has 6 grooves instead of the stock 5. 4th clip down on this aftermarket needle is the Std. position. If you have stockers, leave it in the middle. Put 280's in...and do a proper plug chop. Air screw will be between 1 to 2 turns out, 25 pilot is just fine if you're running an air box setup. If you remove the airbox all together, bump the mains up to 330s or 340s, 27.5 pilot. This is all taking into consideration you're at or near sea level (less than 1000 feet) and you ride in 60 to 80 degree temps. Hope this helps.... Michael Jackson
i run vf3's t5's , k&n in box with lid off, i run a 300 main, 280 was definatly lean with the lid off, this is at 750-1000ft above sea level

TWILES
I used to Toomey kit in mine with his 2into1 airfilter and stock carbs with stock cylinders and mine did fine. I never really got into it that deep or tried to refine it but it ran good most of the time and really good around 70 degrees and low humidity. Snopczynski
Do you have toomey needles in the carbs?
qboronyrican
i guess so ...the needle has 6 notches......how else can you tell
dajogejr
Toomey and Dynojet is the same needle. Vito's makes one too...but it's red. Both Toomey's and Vitos have the same or similar profile, and they both have 6 notches... The Toomeys even come with a washer for finer tuning, but I never used one of these washer...there's such a slight difference between notches on a needle, I can't see that level of fine tuning needed... qboronyrican
ok so then yes i have the toomey/dynojet cause i do have the washer ....in the not being used position but it is there. the only difference between mine and what toomey recomendes is that mine is on the 3rd notch and they say 4th Edited May 17, 2007 by qboronyrican
