ellison445
There is no reason you should be geting walked by a preadator!!! Practice your launching, Thats how most races are won!! Its how you get out of the hole and how fast you switch the gears. Launch in second!
5150banshee
what gear are you starting out in like the guy ahead of me said the race is all about the jump, start in second and dont let off of the gas when you shift also keep it pinned, practice your starts.keep us posted. ZachBreck
Its a dirt track, I am launching in 2nd but he stays about side by side with me, its when I hit 5th he pulls away, it feels like it is alot doggier than what it should be. I have enough room to hit 6th but the RPM's aren't right, I have tried hitting 6th but it bogs down and he is gone....any suggestions on going to a 13 tooth front sproket instead of the 14 ? NYUK
get some portwork. you will walk him with your feet on the front fenders.you should walk him now.
06BaNsHeE
you should be walking him.Check your jetting.Port it and youll eat him alive
Washburn
Are your RPMs droping when you shift and not hitting the powerband consistantly in each gear? If so you need to start bringing the RPMs up and shifting faster. keep up on your launches. Try starting in first and wind it out to 4th or 5th pinned. Then try launching in second and see witch one works better for you. Turns into second nature. I dont see how a Predator is walking by you unless he is the better rider of you two. I still havent been beat in a drag by a Raptor 700 or Piped 450. Ill race more this season but I think its going to take more than a pipe and jet kit on the 4 pokes to beat me in a drag. Keep practicing
06BaNsHeE
I have lost to a raptor b4 but it was retarded fast. And I mean FAST.I Beat him out the whole and when I shift to 3rd he flies by me
blowit
I have lost to a raptor b4 but it was retarded fast. And I mean FAST.I Beat him out the whole and when I shift to 3rd he flies by me My biggest concerns are state of tune on that motor and traction. Tires are VERY over looked by Banshee owners and they win races on dirt tracks. Double strokes need more work that thumpers in the traction department. Banshees love to spin the tires and that does not win races. You FMFs are killing you as well. Reach for some better pipes some day. For now, work on your suspension, tires, tire pressure, engine tune, and riding skill. The bike can do it if tuned properly. Brandon
Banshee0028
I had similar mods as you with a few extras, but walked away from those pred's. I even missed 3rd gear, and gave up a few bike lengths . Shifted to 4th, and I was flying by him .... We raced 8-10 times, same result...Dude was pissed!!
locogato11283
first off, predators are NOT slow by any means. they have a lot of power and they weigh more than a banshee. with that being said, if the pred is getting better traction than the banshee then youll see why the banshee is gettin beat. what tires are both bikes running? tires will play a big part in the start of the drag race. your mods are prolly more than enough to beat this pred. sounds like youre having traction issues..and, you need to work on your jetting. you say it feels doggy, well get it fixed.. 400rednEX
your topend shouldn't be bogging, if it is check tour airfilter and jetting. if it bogs you're probably rich, if it's dead you could be lean. look at your plugs.
fox_forma
what mods are done to the pred? I use to own one of them and as soon as a better exhaust and filter is on them things they open up a ton. Banshee do as well but when I put a trinity full system on with an open filter set-up it was an insane jump in performance. Preds are not slow by any means either, but it depends on what is done to it. If its stock and your losing like that, you got some issues going on.
