kawiking Posted May 8, 2007 Report Share Posted May 8, 2007 my buddy has a 4 mill cub motor, he's ben having trouble shifting out of 2nd and third. they have tried all kinds of clutch springs in it. he's running somekind of motorcycle clutches. another friend has a 10mill same clutches and no prob. -- not sure if they are like what jeff (f.a.s.t.) sells.that what i run !!! love it !!! any help would be great,driving him crazy....... sometime it will shift sometimes it wont ?????????? If you are having only one particular gear change problem like 2-3 upshift, that points to a trans problem. Specifically a bent shift fork that will tend to bind and not slide free on the fork shaft. Bansh-eman Posted May 9, 2007 Report Share Posted May 9, 2007 id be willing to bet his forks are fine... look at the star and make your the little thing on the end of your shift shaft is catching the post on the star... if they are then start looking into other options... cracking the cases becasue of this is kinda dumb... start from the outside and work in...
