dajogejr
The plugs don't make that big of a difference, to be all honest. First off, what are all your mods, and what is your jetting at? What do you mean by "blowing plugs"...and in melting them, fouling them....???
Screaming Yellow Zonker
I have had a set of B8ES in my bike for almost a year and have not had a problem yet. I think you need to look at your fuel mixture. How about your oil mixture... How is your spark?

You have something tuning to do.Brandon i have 270 and 30 jets and at a ratio of 32 over 1 plus pro circuit pipes and k and n filters the right side dont fire until it warms up and i blow out the left side after maybe a half hour of riding pleeeeeeeaaaaaaasseeeee help
Screaming Yellow Zonker
WOW! with 270 jets my bike would over heat and ping like a SOB. You might be baking those plugs right out of your bike. When my bike was running lean I went through plugs left and right.

Washburn
It has to be your jetting. You say your running K&Ns so I take it your running pods and that calls for bigger mains. Do you plugs look a little white? They should be nice and tan. Go up to 300s and see if your spitting oil out of your pipes or the bike is reving to high or breaking up at WOT in the higher gears and coming down and reving out. Running to hot is a big sign too. Thats too rich. If thats the case go a size down and work from there. Best thing to do would be a plugchop to see where your at on your mains? People always say they would rather run rich than run lean. I dont know why either way your gonna end up frying your pistons. Its best to be dead on at all times. When you figure out where your jetting should be as the weather changes jetting will be a snap everytime after that. Also when the bike is cold will it start without the choke? Does it sputter while its reving? You may be to fat on your piolets. Check it out and go to 27.5s I run B8ES and the only time I change them is when Im either taking it slow with kids on the back or I let an inexpirenced rider ride it. If I dident do those things my plugs would last me forever. What elevation do you ride at?

All the jetting changes in the world won't help you with an air leak or crank seal leak. One cylinder not firing until it warms up does not make sense...especially if the jetting is the same in each carb. You have bigger problems...and need to figure those out... dajogejr
Ok...no problem. Find out the hard way... I've seen motors smoked in 20 minutes that were "just rebuilt" because the owner didn't take the time to read plugs and take it easy.... I'm not telling you it's not a jetting problem. I'm just telling you to leak test the motor before you waste your time trying to jet it out...when it could be something else... Just because it's not leaking air doesn't mean a crank seal isn't leaking tranny fluid into the motor...and since the PTO side of the crank has more load on it..it's normally the seal that goes first. It also happens to be the right side.... Also...did you check your reeds for broken, frayed or chips in them??

YOu can buy a kit...or...or you can make your own. It might not be an air leak...if the crank seal is leaking on the PTO side...it's got fluid going through it and all around it...from the tranny.... And since your plugs are "oily"...this makes sense.... See what i'm getting at?
