01bansheefox
4th of July..... Where is the best place in California to go for a few days during the 4th of july weekend?? I am thinking Glamis or Pismo but I wanted to get some input. Most of the guys ride bikes except 2 of us, so if the riding condition very's let me know. Also what is the weather like? Hot, Cool? Another thing is I dont want it to be so crowded we cant even ride our own toys.
BansheeKid15
Pismo is pretty much your option... Galmis and Dumont (since they are deserts, become extremely hot). Since pismo is a beach it stays cool, the 4th of july is a huge weekend down there, so if you plan to go down, make sure you make resurvations online because they will be sold out when you get down there. 01bansheefox
Is it so crowded that we wouldnt be able to ride? I viewed some movies online and it seems everyone just watches the trophy trucks and sand rails rip up and down and have drag races, Is there still enough room to ride around? Also what are you making a reservation for?? I thought it was just an open stretch of sand.
01bansheefox
How do I make a reservation? I tried viewing 2 sites already and both said there was nothing available, I cant believe everything would be sold out as of right now, Cant you just camp on the beach in a trailer? ClimbAnyHill
It's crowded compared to Glamis & Dumont because it smaller. It's never too crowded for a good time. Pismo is the way to go for the 4th & it's still nice & cool out there since it's a beach. You have to reserve so you don't get left out. It's listed under Oceano Dunes http://www.reserveamerica.com/ca/Oceano_Du...amp;search=site You can also go out the beach into town if needed. It's really close. Here's a thread on last year's trip: http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...;hl=pismo+beach
BansheeKid15
Go to this web site www.reserveamerica.com You have to make resurvations at pismo because it is a state park. They do have rangers and shit that partol the beaches. The have a cap on how many camping spots they can sell for a weekend, its usually 1000 spots. The reason for this is that the environmental assholes (sierra club) are trying to shut pismo down because some fuckin bird that lives there. Now pismo is only open from poll 4 to poll 8 for riding. My dad says he remembers when it went to poll 20 something when it was back in the day. There are rails and trucks that show up there on the weekends. Most of what your hearing is people that go out to comp hill (or comp bump as we like to call it because it is a pussy ass hill) and watch the trucks and rails, they go out to see stupid shit happen ( we do it occasionally) because most people party out there, get shit faced and ride around. As for rideability, like any place it does get kinda chopped up during the weekend. You will be able to ride and still have fun and dune. Its a fun place to go. 01bansheefox
I tried booking the reservations right now but I get this error: Inventory is not available. Site cannot be booked. What the hell does that mean?? Think that means its booked already, so where else can we camp??
