bansheefourseven Posted April 17, 2007 Report Share Posted April 17, 2007 I use 92 93 octane pump gas and got a hold of an extra head taken right off a new banshee. My shop will mill it for $30 and I am gonna try it so, How much should I take off? Whats popular and with what results (compression?) I heard not to go more than .030 but have seen some that said they took off .040 with no problems. Eventually I will get a cool head but right now this is $160 cheaper after the $30 to do the head. I have fattys and pc 2s stock airbox with snorkel removed and am running 290 mains and stock pilots needle on the 3rd clip. After I install the head I am going to go +4 on the timing will I have to change anything. And will any of the two mods above require rejetting? One last question? You should still be able to run premium pump gas with .030" milled and +4 timing. I would run a compression check when it is done just to be safe. You will get quicker throttle response and more low end power with these mods. You should not have to rejet, but do a plug reading to be on the safe side.
