Animalman294
I want to get some security cables and locks and was wondering what everyone was using. Eventually I am getting an enclosed trailer, but for now I have to use locks and cables. Motosport has the crytonite locks and cables which has a pretty good reputation. I looked at RMATV and their's are off the wall brands and I am not sure if they would be easy to destroy, or is the cryptonite ones prices just reflect the name. I had the cryptonite locks when I rode my CBR 600 all the time, but just wanted some input................. Thanks

suzuki0702
i use the kryptonite new york faghettaboutit 5' chain and the stonghold concrete anchor...you really got to check that anchor out it was well worth the 60 bux..kryptonite wants 100 for it but i found a brand new one on ebay for 60.ive noticed that master makes some decent shit for jobsite security but not near the toughness of the kryptonite products.. 375hp banshees
the main thing is make sure they cant get to the lock to cut it, same when you get A trailer, they're only as good as the weakest link

BigRed350x
yeah i got 1911.cant go wrong there I got my hitch and ball welded into my truck so no taking my trailer via that route. Lock your trailer to your truck some-how. Me personally I just use a massive logging chain off a road maintainer and the biggest fuggin lock I can get my hands on. BenBB
I use a 20' steel choker I got from work; 3/8" braided steel with an eyelet on each end (somebody kinked it lifting something wrong with the crane; no good for liftin' but great for securing things) and a big-ass padlock; through the frames of both Banshees and the Blaster. Along with a small chain & padlock on the garage door, and my Chevy parked in front of it heh. Since I got broken in to a month ago or so :verymad: (fuckers didn't get in the garage luckily), with the insurance settlement I got myself a nice new Mossberg Cruiser 500 (aka "tha bitch" ), solid metal-skinned doors front & rear with new deadbolts (they got in through the doggie door, which is now gone), new front & back porch light fixtures, three outside motion-detector lights, and Kensington locks on the new laptops that go through a couple holes I bored in the wall. I'd sure love it if they came back when I was home...NM just changed the laws so if the motherfucker is in the house I can legally fill him with 8-shot

That's what I do at the dunes & races; heavy cable and padlock through 2 or more quads/trailers/trucks/large objects. Although I wish mine was plastic coated like the Kryptonites, gotta be kinda careful on the paint/powder...

platinumjason
How strong are the kryptonite chains compared to the cables?
dawarriorman
How strong are the kryptonite chains compared to the cables? Any good size chain is more than a match for a pair of bolt cutters. You'd have to grind it, and it would take awhile. I would take a good size chain over a cable.
