dajogejr
well im hopeing to find out this ? soon. my buddy just built a 421 cub motor, running 39mm mikuni flat slides,+6 swinger,22 domes(pump gas-lol) and a few other things. i just got my bike back together, stock cyl.--drag ported,SHAVED head(.030) -flywheel and reed cages,34mm kein... carbs,35mm pistons, hot rod crank and a set of cpi out of frame pipes. we are both running 9 paddle 3-buffed haulers, both under paddles on sand . he's not set up good!! im calling he'll have me by 1--1 1/2 bikes.his is a beast but he has no traction.he's suppose to be getting a 14 paddle(i think its to much). hope to run them sat. I'm running a 14 paddle on my 14 over 10 mil cub. It is way too much paddle for a 4 mil cub on a 6 inch arm... It's going to hook too good off the line, and slow him down in top end. I used a 10 paddle Hauler on my 4 mil, 6 over arm...and I weigh 250 lbs. It hooked good, good MPH down the stretch (300 ft sand drags).... Big Mike NY
My 2 cents... HP doesn't mean anything. To many vaiables to consider. Sure when you bench race, the setup with the most HP SHOULD win. My TRX has beaten bikes with much more HP than what it makes. So has my Banshee. I've been riding 2 strokes since 1988 so I am confident in my riding skills. That's key, as mentioned by many people in this topic. I would really focus on getting your traction, shifting and launching technique down tight. That will be the deciding factor. If he misses one gear and you don't, the race is over, you win! If he spins the tires and you don't, you may take the lead and stay out front. His bike may be running like shit that particular day and your's is running like a champ. I always like to root for the underdog! Whoop his as Bro!
kawiking
he's also running a 15 tooth front sprocket and leaves in 1st,im running a 14 and leave in 2nd. im hoping i'll get him on shifting !! he's only running a 4.8 on a sand/dirt track. his bike should be running a 4.5 ish ,my guess.im hopeing for a 5.0-4.8 on my bike on the track. i'll be running a strut on the track.
