MDS2106
As the drag racing has shifted some toward dirt lately,it has come time to build as wheelie bar for my son's banshee. He has always done fine with the front end coming up with sand drags, because its generally a floating gradually wheelie that is easily corrected or rode out.The dirt drags with the 4 snows sends the front up quickly,so I want to build a wheelie bar that i can attach and remove when needed. The bike still has stock suspension,I was wanting to know where the best place to mount the wheelie bar since it has a back shock.Someone had told me to mount it to the carrier and the grabbar bolts. Seems like that could cause problems when the backend squats. Also the aftermarket swingarm has no skid plate brackets. Also any pics. would help Thanks Mark Edited March 25, 2007 by MDS2106
holeshot2
i would build a rear strut for the bike with tab to hook wheelie bar to then let the bottom hook to carrier bolts or have some tabs on the bottom of the carrier.you won't get wheelie bar to work for you with shock on the rear.. 06BaNsHeE
Probably stupid but have you tried strapping down the front end?
MDS2106
What about bracing the wheelie bar between the top and bottom rails, and attaching it to the carrier and the grab bar so when the wheelie bar is attached, the rear end becomes rigid and uses the bracing as a strut.Any imput ??????
