Does the computer of a fuel injected engine pick up the mods done and compensate on its own, or does the computer need to be reprogrammed by the stealership? Im sure that they will change the injector duty cycle or pulse width to richen up the mixture. You should also be able to change the timing curve as well. jayzx10r Posted March 26, 2007 Report Share Posted March 26, 2007 To change the AF (air/fuel) ratio, you need to install a Power Commander between the ECU and the injector(s) as well as remap. All modern sport bikes are FI and use this system. The best way to get max performance is to dyno and remap at the same time. It is an involved process but waaay more accurate than a carb can ever be. Dynojet, the manufacturers of Power Cammander also offer free base maps that are somewhat OK, but as all of us that jet know...every bike wants it's own particular jetting. jeepman380 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Share Posted March 28, 2007 I don't think with the stock programming that it will compensate even if you take just the air box lid off. The Dynojet programmer seems to be the best one that i've seen on the market. They have tons of mapping that you can download. They have pretty much any combo of mods you can think of with a fuel map to match. Or you can make your own maps for it as well. As for other programmers you can only adjust low, mid, high rpms. theshee Posted March 28, 2007 Report Share Posted March 28, 2007 On Raptor 700s you dont HAVE to program the EFI after installing a pipe, but to get the full benefit from the pipe you should. At least thats what ive been told. I know on a stock one you can gain a bunch of power from just a programmer. Im gonna get one sometime soon for my rappy.
