woodro77
i sell some parts from time to time and only had 1 problem with a seller , i sold brake caliper last week and had like 7 pics up close of it from every angle , stated it was used , didnt try to hide anything , what you see is what you get , buyer gets it and says he wants his money back , i say you saw it perfectly in pics , i dont except returns , its fucking ebay , he puts a claim in with paypal and they take the money out of my account, he says i mislead him , , hes full of shit , it works fine , came off my bike , (was missing rubber gromets ) which you can clearly see in the pics , i dont know whats going to happen now but i guess paypal desides it . he also threated me with neg feedback , his feedback is 2 mine is 120 , i said negitive feedback works both ways and you would be stupid to give me negitive , it would hurt you alot more then me . just sic and tired of stupid buyers , look at what your buying and if you expect new , buy new from yamaha . people bidding on my item and then asking me to retract their bid, just stupid shit , people bidding on my item and winning then asking me to ship to china when it says US only in the auction. people winning and not paying and if you give them negitive feedback they can respond with negitive feedback even though they fucked you . ebay should stand behind the seller a little bit , they are the ones paying all the rising fee's just venting a bit . Matt96shee
i could turn a gi-normous rant and rave on about ebay and paypal!!! it's a good place to make the most money on an item but you're definately right....they need to do more for the seller. i guess they figure the new "anonymous bidder" setup helps the seller enough!!!! your situation is exactly why i instantly pull all the money out of my account when someone pays. 2 feedback??? yea right, he knew what he was doing....file a claim, get the money, and keep the item. woodro77
will they give him a refund if he doesnt send back the caliper ?
Animalman294
Gets a refund and then keeps the item........................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd keep his address and show up on his door step, thats a reverse scam if I ever heard one. I think I should open a new company and make it more fair for both parties, and I have an idea on how to do that. Thats the only reason I don't like ebay is because of the scams, but I know how to deal with dead beat buyers and crappy seller's. The buyer's are easy to deal with, and they never know what hit them until they get screwed.................
csrmel
did you ship the item with tracking number and did you ship it within 10 days of getting paid? also they buyer was a verified? if so CALL paypal and tell them these 2 things and remind them that you sucessfully fulfilled every obligation of the seller protection policy. you might have a chance then. but lately it seems paypal is no longer interested in protecting the seller. i sold a digicam to someone and shipped it out 1 day after getting payment. 3 weeks later the buyer filed a chargback and to make a long story short, even though i had tracking number paypal still decide against me, they refund the buyer, plus they hit me with a $20 chargeback fee, plus i still got to pay my fucking ebay insertion fees and final value fees, plus im out the cost of shipping, AND the cost of the camera. all in all i lost about $90 and the buyer kept the camera. i was like fuck that shit and i called paypal and told them im not going to pay and then i swore at them a little bit and hung up. i called my bank and canceled my CC and got a new number. i also put a hold on my bank account so they cant get my money through my checking account. paypal emailed me saying they didnt appreciate me disallowing them accesss to my accounts, so i email them back basically swearing them off and i also mentioned that i put their domain name in my junk mail filter so i wont get further emails from them. sence i got a new cell phone number a year or so ago i never bothered to update paypal (or ebay) with my number, so they have no way of contacting me besides email or perhaps snail mail? and email wont work now that they are on my junk mail filter. the thing i have read online is that paypal WANTS to decide in favour of the buyer because they get a better interest rate from banks and CC companys if they keep the ammount of chargebacks in favour of the buyer. this makes the Cc company look good to the buyer so they keep using it and fucks the seller because no matter who is at fault, the seller is very likely to lose. ill probably end up getting a REAL merchant account with card services so i can process credit cards again through ebay, but for now i only take checks and money orders and i suppose local pickups. try paypalsucks.com to read about the bullshit others have gone through. FireHead
will they give him a refund if he doesnt send back the caliper ? Probably. You need to make sure Paypal understands your side of the story. Many, many emails to them help this process along. I have a deal going with a guy that broke the carbs that I sold him in several different places. He made me file a claim with UPS, who obviously didn't fo anything. I got the carbs back and they had been wailed on with pliers ans what I am gueesing was a hammer, plus they were full of gas. Obviouslt I didn't send them out that way. My biggest problem is that I already left the buyer positive feedback, because he didn't say anything until a week after the carbs had been delivered. He hasn't taken it to Paypal yet, but when he does my foot is going in his ass.
vtecjun
Do you know if he paid extra for insurance through Paypal? If he didn't, which most people don't, the only thing that Paypal guarantees is that he gets the part. They don't care if he got a box full of rocks, as long as you have a tracking number that shows that he received something he is screwed. I sell a lot on Ebay and I have had this problem many times. They pull the money out but you will get it back most likely. Just make sure to stay on top of all the emails that Paypal sends you. If you don't reply they will side with the buyer. Hopefully it wasn't a lot of money, just sucks ass to deal with either way.

I don't know if my buyer paid for Paypal insurance, but I bought the shipping label from UPS via the Paypal portal, so that have all that info. I am not all that worried about the money as it was only a couple hundred dollars, but it's the principle of the whole thing. I mean really, fuck up the carbs and then try and tell me a week later that they were damaged in shipping? What sort of normal person does something like that? I am just hoping I don't get any negative feedback on eBay. I think I am down to a 98% rating due to a couple other douche bags. One guys left negative feedback for no apparent reason and then apologized afterwards which or course does me no good, and then I bought a couple items that turned out to basically be a box of rocks or an empty box when delivered (those sellers aren't registered members anymore, but atleast I get to keep the retaliatory negative feedback :shoothead: ). vtecjun
You can contact Ebay about getting the negs removed if they are not members anymore. You can also contact them about the guy who apologized and mutually have the neg removed. I have 360 Positive and 3 negatives in 4 years. You are always going to run into people that are out to screw you. I have dealt with some pretty expensive problems myself. As long as you are in the right 99.9% of the time it will work out for you. If you need help with finding the feedback links let me know.

It seems to me that they used to do that automatically several years ago. If you have link to where I need to where I need to email them to work on this issue that would be great. I recall that I am not a fan of eBay's help menu, :geek:
jbooker82
I almost had a problem like that. Sold a set of FMF SST Power Core II Silencers. Specificaly stated that they fit SST pipes, becasue the sst pipes are longer so the silencer stinger tube is shorter. I sent them off to the buyer and get an email. They dont fit they are to short. I told him look at the auction that is what I said. Huge bold letters. ONLY FITS YAMAHA BANSHEE FMF SST PIPES. I asked him what I should do. Eat the costs of my ebay fees, paypal fees, and the free shipping that i payed for. I never herd back from him. The only good thing I can say is that he had the balls to admit he f d up by not fileing a paypal charge back. I have thought about taking paypal off my checking account and running it through my visa debit card. Thay way I could fight papal through visa's fraud. I think visa woudl fight harder than my local bank. josh

He hasn't filed anything with eBay or Paypal that I know of. He emails me once a day telling me how pissed off or annoyed he is. I have no problem being an asshole to the guy, but I would like to avoid all the happy horseshit that goes along with negative feedback on eBay or a Paypal charge back. I suppose I wouldn't even give it a second thought if there wasn't about $200 invovled.
