It can cause premature heat break down, varnishing, and sludging in an engine. With spending big bucks on a new tranny or clutch in mind, I wouldn't do it. But don't expect to mix conventional oil and synthetic and get the same protection... You won't. Or weights of oil.. But they will all mix.
