(F5)
Greetings from New Zealand. I have been doing a bunch of research & still have conflicting reports. Have never seen these kits so want to be careful in selection before I plonk down the readies. This is where you come in. Maybe. Rustbag
I would "guess" that the 10mm cheetah with powervalves would be the ideal setup of the 3. Maybe some one who has actually had one or more of these setups will chime in. Sounds fun!
Ruko
I have a 485 Cheetah with power valves and it has amazing midrange. It is a +4 crank with a 73mm bore and no extra porting done to it. I also run CPI's which are a top end pipe. If you were to go to a +10 crank it should have all the mid you would ever need. The power valve Cheetah's are definately still available, it's just that the Cubs are cheaper so most people are going that route now. I don't know if they would bolt up to an RZ bottom end or not but I remember a post a while ago about someone doing just that. I would think if you can put a RZ top end on a Banshee bottom you should be able to go the other way as well. Maybe someone who has more RZ knowledge can chip in here. (F5)
Thanks for feedback so far guys. Couldn't find any more info of Aftermarket into streetbike, only RZ Banshee info. Ruko, don't suppose you ever did a dyno run?, just interested in revs it pulls from, your report sounds promising though! Briefly looked at Planet sand but seem to be totally Drag orientated which is why I'm here as there is a mix. Glad to hear that Cheetah is still available. Wonder if it may stretch the budget if need reedblocks etc. Maybe not, surprising how few (haven't found any) that actually mention the PV Cheetah in their range or websites. So is everyone dissing the cub or T-Rex options? Edited March 26, 2007 by (F5)

So is everyone dissing the cub or T-Rex options? Sry haven't had it on a Dyno yet... I've always wanted to, just to see, but I've never got around to it. As far as the price of a Cheetah they come with V-Force reeds, Upp intakes, a head, pistons and gaskets. They use the bigger reeds, from a cr250 I believe, and the newer kits have heads with interchangable domes. The older ones had 1 piece heads, just in case you look for used stuff. The reason they are harder to find info on is Trinity has exclusive rights to them so they all come from them originally. I got mine from K&T, they sell them for about the same price as Trinity so they must get some kind of wholesale price from them. I think your own pros and cons pretty well hit the nail on the head as far as the Cubs and T-Rex. You could also try to call a builder and get some feedback from them, they may have more info from a technical standpoint. I know K&T builds all 3 of those engines you asked about so they can give you good info on all of them without trying to sell you one or the other just because that's what they sell. Crazy05
Cub= no power valve so yeah you should take them off your list. They did not replace the cheetah (momma). The cub was built as a cheaper way to get a cylinder with newer state of the art port maps and still be able to use your stock bolt ons like head intakes and pipes. With the momma cheetah you have to change everything. Also if you decide to go with a banshee based cylinder you can use a banshee cases as well and then the RZ trans fits right in them. You would have to modify the cases on the RZ as the base bolts for the cylinders are off. But the gears will fit the same. I only heard these things and dont know them to be factual so do some more research but Im pretty sure its accurate.
