jeepman380
Type F tranny fluid works fine as well. Yes 24:1 is "heavier" than 32:1.
fastrthnu
Type F tranny fluid works fine as well. Yes 24:1 is "heavier" than 32:1. tranny oil can be used but needs changed often. 10w 30 works motor oil works. Gear oil80w works or go to a powersports or motorcycle shop and get something better. Some yamalube or bel ray.
scooter
why do you want to run automotive engine oil? why not run yamalube or gearsaver? a oil that is made for transmissions. i think yamaha would know whats best for there quads if your trying to save money i dont think your gonna save much and your not going to gain any performance either
jbooker82
Go to wal mart and get you some shell rotella synthetic oil. It is made for diesel engines and doesnt have friction modifiers. I think it is a 5w 40 so it is a little lighter oil.
350BANSHEE350
bigger jugs of car oil are cheaperthan big jugs of yamalube buy far its 6.50 for a 36 oz bottle here in canada
yamaha04
belray gear saver poney up man its not that much 20$ should get you enough for a oil change. i just cant justify saveing 4$ i would much rather have bel-ray then motor oil any day
trex banshee
I have ran valvoline max life 10w-40 in my tranny ever since i bought my bike 4 years ago with no problems at all. My brothers bike, cousins, and any one i work on leaves our shop with it in it. No problems with any of them.

EastCoast Banshee
Iv personally gone to ATF i hate gear oil its all nasty and smells like ass. I just change it every few rides and haven't had a problem yet. Oh yeah its pretty cheap too.
TREELIZARD
I like to use either ATF type F or Castrol GTX 20w-50. you wont have any problems with either one
