Well if you're ordering Toomey's and you're talking about the 2:1 that their kit can be ordered with it's actually a really nice filter. It flows a ton and works well. If your trails have water on them then I wouldn't recommend the UNI or the K&N pods as you'll have issues with the water. If not, you'll gain by going with either of the options over a boxed filter.

one last reply pllease!

For general riding do NOT remove the air box. This serves a good protection for that filter and a splash of water on any dirty filter will cause a matted mess of crap that will not flow air. I only say this because of your riding areas and the couple extra ponies with pods are estimated only with "clean" filters. Once dirty, it does not matter. You need to use the right setup for your riding conditions and boxes save HP in very dirty condition by keeping the filter cleaner.

That's exactly what I was getting at. Like said, I ride sand only, so with a Prefilter the 2:1 UNI works great and it's free HP. So, wuddup, if you plan on hitting any water don't get rid of the airbox, but if you don't hit water then I would. When I used to trail ride (at the very start) I was running a full airbox and when you popped it after a long day of riding, 40+ miles, it didn't matter that you were running an airbox, it was filthy inside that box too.

Hello, on the first reply im ordering my stuff. Im ordering pipes and stuff and they come with uni lame foam filter. I want to get a different airfilter. I ride trails/falt should i ditch box and get two k'ns are just buy one k and n are what you think?

I probably will wind up having a controversal opinion on this. Where do you ride primarily? If you keep the air box, you need to buy a Pro Design Pro Flow filter kit. Unless all you ride on is the sand dunes or drag strip, I think the stock air box with the Pro Design kit and the lid removed is the best all around filter setup.

No we'll see who disagrees with me and tries to verbally park a car in my ass.

I for one would never park anything in your ass, verbally or otherwise. You can take that to the bank.

I wouldn't disagree with that in the least. Chances are if you ride on trails sooner or later you're going to run into some water and the open filter design, whether it's the UNI 2:1 or the pods are not the filters for that. Like I said, I ride sand only and so the UNI with a Prefilter is the best option.
