FireHead
Do you mean the piston on the right of the photograph? It's either detonation or you had some dirt or something in there.

blowit
yer sorry right my bad\ K, if you can offer a MUCH closer pic of the piston or tell me if the pits are elevated on the edges around the pit? Are the pit centers shiny or very dull? I need to know the motor and head setup too. I am leaning on pre-ignition and not detonation. The random pattern would be WAY before TDC. Either that or you threw a hand full of sand in it. Also inspect the head for damage. If it is FOD, it will have damage in the head as well. If you are running wimpy fuel in a tuned up banshee, there you go. Brandon

FireHead
what do you mean by trash problem? Trash = dirt or metal that foung it's way into the cylinder.

pokeatyou2
also should i be tearing it down again becasue of this?
FireHead
also should i be tearing it down again becasue of this? If it were me I wouldn't bother. Whatever did that is probably gone by now. It could have easily been detonation that occurred when you overheated the bike.

I am sure you will tell me otherwise but I think he done told us it was FOD though. I would run it as well. Damage probably occurred in the first 5 seconds of it's life. Damage is done, move on. Just hope it did not get in the crank bearings and shorten their life. B
AnCieNt1
what made you tear it down to begin with? i still think it was something in the motor when you put it back together either something that wasnt cleaned good or something that got in it when it was apart. if it was running fine im like firehead just put it back together if it was running fine.but that is really up to you because its your motor..
