jbooker82
Well my banshee' vforece 2 reeds took a crap on me. Sneezed through the carbs and broke a reed. New reeds for the 2's are going to be around 120. New 3's only cost 180-200. I have herd people say that the 2's are actually better than the 3's. Not concerned with money whitch route would you guys go? Josh

FASTOYS
IF the rest of the cages are tight and screws not stripped i would prefer to run the 2s as we have seen more power on the dyno with them. We carry the replacement II reed petals and they are not quite that much.
Bansh-eman
i havent personally had experiance with the vf2 but word of mouth claims like jeff said they pull little more hp on the dyno... porblem is if the screws work them selfs out you got a whole new mess on your hands... at the sacrifice of 1hp id go with the vf3 but thats just me... You can have a similair problem with the VF3's if you don't do a good job snapping them together.
Bansh-eman
im not holding my vf3 but as i recall there isnt metal on them any where so at max your motor would suck a reed and destroy it or melt the plastic clip that holds them in... a metal screw coming out and gettig sucked into your motor would do much more damage. I am really not sure how much of a possibility there is for a screw to come loose. I really don't it would be a problem if the VF2's were properly assembled. The same this goes for the VF3's. If they are properly assembled, there shouldn't ever be a problem. The only reason I mentioned the VF3's snapping together before was to show that you could grow the same problem with a VF2 as you could with a VF3. In reality, I don't think the issue with either reed valve is worth talking about.
jbooker82
The out side of the reed block on the 2's have little notches cut out to bairly clear the screw heads. If a screw does work loose it wont be able to come all the way out. I would take a pic for you guys but my girlfriend has my digital camera. I just went a head and ordered new petals from jeff. I don't know how much damage it may do compared to a screw, but carbon fiber is really heat resistant so it could potentially bounce around in pieces and not necessarily burn up right away. I'd hate to have either one happen to my motor, but I think the chances of either happening are slim.
