chris1992
answer to some of the final questions? (looks over to the guy who said something about the tranny and swingarm)
Crazy05
You need aftermarket cylinder sleeves or an aftermarket cylinder block in addition to adding stroke to the crankshaft. I polodize if that isn't that helpful. I missed a large portion of this thread. Stock 28 hp to the ground Add pipes and jetting. 32-35 HP coolhead and timing 37-40 porting and bigger carbs 50 to70 mild to wild stroker 7+all the above 75-85 wild. Mostly a bike for drag After market jugs like cubs or a mini 70 to 100+ If mony isnt aa issue call K&T Performance or one of the reputable porters RDZ, OHTON, and other big names. If all you want is an x amount of power there are lots of guys who can get it for you. How fast do you want to go. What kind of riding are you going to be doing. Do you want low end or a screamer. Theres lots to consider when modding your bike. Have a plan than research then ask around for your paticular needs. Good luck.
FireHead
answer to some of the final questions? (looks over to the guy who said something about the tranny and swingarm) I assume you are asking Dave the question, but I'll field an answer for you as well. With regard to the transmission on a Banshee, in stock form, the more horsepower you make, the more difficult they are to shift and/or simply use. There is some machine work to be done to help with this and some clutch part to be purchased. The added cost is just something that should be considered before whipping out the credit card and ordering cylinders. With regard to the swingarm, you will probably wind up needing a longer one. With that comes a new brake line, chain, and shock. If you still want to be able to jump the bike you probably shouldn't extend the swingarm more than four inches over stock. Depending on your power output, a shorter swingarm may make the bike a handful to ride. Some of the guys on here enjoy swingarms that are alot longer than I feel is probably necessary. So, I guess what i am getting at is that you may need to find someone near you who has a bike like you're looking to put together and see if they will let you come check it out.

We are just now testing some new products to help the banshee shift better. We really never did the market research on this so just curious. Thanks Brandon

Thanks Brandon There is some joint in Florida called Whitaker Racing that has done a few people's transmissions on here. I think they may have an auction for their services as well. Dave Moore among several others in Oregon does trans. work as does Rudy Kurtz (I think he's in Utah, but I am not sure off of the top of my head. I think there are several other folks that do the work as well, I just can't think of them right now. There are not that many folks out there that do really good quality transmission modifications out there. There are a few of us that do our own transmission work around here as well.
Bansh-eman
redline does them also... chris hate to tell you bro but you need to spend some time on ehre researching your bike for a while before you jump into this... you will find a plethra of knowledge and questions that have been answered to help you understand everything you will need to accomedate the motor your looking for... with your broken sentences and spotty questions its challenging to gather your thoughts to give you the correct answer.. everything you need to know has been covered many many times... just do some searching and you will attain more info then you could ever need... then once you have a better understanding of how it all works, start gathering your thoughts and ask questions so we can understand what it is your looking for. And not do so much shooting in the dark... Edited March 16, 2007 by Bansh-eman

dante
My boost bottle added more power probably like 5 hp. JUST ADD A BOOST BOTTLE and you'll be fast enought!

Crack is whack.... Seriously Chris, bansh-eman is right, as if firehead. There is a LOT more to just building a bigger motor than slapping it on. There's chassis setup, tranny and clutch, fuel and exhaust, etc. Best thing you could do...as said, is get to reading your ass off and learn as much as you can. Then...call a few builders. Call Jeff at FAST, call Jim at Passion, Call Cameron at Redline, Dave @ Dave Moore Racing, Rudy Kurtz @ Port Magic... There are plenty others. See how they treat you. See their pricing, etc. That's the best advice I could give you...
