chris1992
uh what does this thing do? as far as i can tell it just replaces the pipe with a tank. i dont know what it does though. also i need a new head took it off and it has dents in it :/ will the same head work for a stock 350 and a bored out 410? just wondering. thx (im going with a cool head) also what cc should i get? ( i dont know what that is if someone could inform me) didnt know u could have cc's for a head.
man27
The boost bottle is supposed to give the engine a fresh boost of mixed air / fuel but I can't see a differace between the bottle and the balance pipe so it's a personal opinion issue!!! The head question the domes depend on your elevation on which cc to use the higher in elevation you are the smaller cc's you can use thats the rule of thumb!!!

Bansh-eman
do a search for the boost bottle its been covered many many times... your head... you are running a 410cc motor? im assuming your runng 67 mm pistons on a 4mil crank? that gets about as close to 410 that i can thnk of... if your running a stroker your going to need the domes cut.. putting a stock head on a stroked motor will make the pistons smack the head... FireHead
You might as well have Adam Sandler's character from the movie The Hot Chick describe what a boost bottle is good for.
chris1992
wait wait wait... i cant just bore this out and put the new pistons in bigger in diameter? i probably woulda figured this stuff out l8r but... well i have a 350 now but imma bore it 30 over on each side with weisco but no one ever told me i need to replace the crank. while im doing that imma replace the head cause its f***ed up.also ima try and get it ported and to compansate for the extrA cc's imma ditch the airbox for a high air flow kit. will stock carbs work here? the POS muyuki 26's? man27
I would say you need at least a set of 28mm carbs depends on the port job!!!

No, I think what he thinks he is doing by having it bored "30" over is actually adding 30cc to each cylinder. Chris1992, this is definitely not the case. When people say they are boring it "30" over, they are referencing boring it .030" or 30 thousandths of one inch. Or like Bansh-eman said, about 355cc (didn't do the math on my part). There is a lot to be talked about here, but to cut to the chase, if it is a stock bore right now, there should be very little need to have it bored .030" right off the bat. You would have to do pretty heavy damage to the cylinder to require a .030" bore right off the bat. .020" is usually the most you would have to go, likely just to .010" Also, the carbs are Mikuni's and they would definitely work for a basic rebuild. If you had it ported, you might consider switching carbs, or having your stock carbs bored as well.
dajogejr
Nobody liked my boost bottle joke............. I liked it Mr. Penguin.... I just had to read up to make sure this guy thought two cylinders bored to .030 meant adding 60cc's...2003 hit the nail on the head though, was thinking what I was thinking. Chris....for real easy reference, here's a piston kit link to Magic Racing. It will tell you what bore size will give you what size displacement boring will do. Unless you're going to put a "Big Bore" kit in....just get the next biggest size to freshen up the motor, you'd be wasting a bore otherwise. Hope this helps... http://www.magicracing.com/Wiseco-Piston-K..._p_133-135.html
dante
The elevation and octane in the gas will be a factor for the domes! My boost bottle added more power probably like 5 hp.
