I just had to make sure the wheels were dead straight with the bar before I set the toe in. It took a while but I got it. How does everything look when the bike if off the ground? bertski077
it all looks fine off the ground. i dont think its hitting anything maybe its just me? i only have the left side tierod on b/c my right inner tierod got bent....so i gotta wait for that to come in b4 i finish it...i have it setup so it is straight with the back wheel and the camber is in about 5 degrees i would say. what was the problem with your tierods not working? I also measured from a given point on the front of the frame to each rim. At first it was a lil out. once I got all that right it worked out fine while it was sitting on the ground. Though as soon as I lifted it off the ground and tried to turn one tie rod hit the top arm and the other bit bottom arm mount. I tried this with the caster at 6,5,4 and 3 deg as well as with the camber set at different angles and still couldnt get it...."time for a set of elkas" Good luck with yours and let me know if it all works out.
bertski077
i have it so the wheels are toed in at the top, and i have it so that the wheels are "toed" in at the front just a hair. and you are saying that the tierod ends are hitting the top a arm mount? and the other hit the frame tabs for the a arm? No when turning right and the wheels are off the ground the right tierod was hitting the end cap on the bottom arm mount and the left tierod was hitting the top arm. I set it up so that when sitting on the bike the camber was about 25mm less at the top and the toe in was about 8mm. when the bike wason the ground everything was fine. bertski077
well i guess i'll be happy if i can get it that way... i suppose it doesnt matter what it does when the tires are off the ground the front tires are useless anyways?
