sgt seth
I need fluids! I got home yesterday, no place was open on sunday here so tomorrow I'm going to pick up fluids for the bike. I am just making sure I have everything. I have absolutely no fluids in the bike, it was shipped here that way. I know I need brake fluid, tranny fluid, rad fluid, and some two stroke oils. What should I be looking for weightage wise and all that. Thank you for your help everyone.

Gonna take it right up the freakin road, I dont care. Theres no other fluids right? What weight trany fluid do you use? Isn't it like an 80w? I'm not entirely sure. Know what i'm saying?? okbeast
Yamaha recommends 10w30 for the tranny but I've used the Bel-ray, different gear oils, and 10w30 motor oils, all have worked fine.
ClimbAnyHill
I run the Maxima brand and it's 85. & yeah welcome back & enjoy the bike!!
r/atvshee
the belray gearsaver that i use is 75w. we use 1 and 1/3 bottle in both of our banshees But now i use a little bit more because of the lockout
differentstrokes
The Honda transmission lube in the reb bottle is really good too, I've also had good luck with Maxima MTL 80w. I like engine ice for the radiator, and Maxima castor 927 for the premix. JMO

I HAVE BEEN USING REDLINE ATF IN THE MOTOR YAMALUBE 2R TO MIX GAS AND REDLINE HAS A PRODUCT CALLED WATER WETTER FOR THE RADIATOR. THE MAXIMA THAT SO MANY SEEM TO LIKE I FEEL IS JUNK I USED IT ONE TIME AND MY BIKE SHIFTED LIKE I USED ROCKS FOR OIL..THE REDLINE OILS ARE A BIT PRICY ABOUT $14 A QUART (IN SO CAL) AND THE WATER WETTER IS ABOUT $10 BUT THE BIKE RUNS SUPER COOL ITS WORKS BETTER THAN ENGINE ICE OR ANY OF THE OTHERS I HAVE FOUND, I CAN RUN A 100 MILE DESERT RACE AND GET OFF THE BIKE AT THE FINISH LINE AND TOUCH THE PIPES ANT THEY ARE WARM BUT NOT HOT. I WILL NEVER USE ANYTHING OTHER THAN REDLINE FOR OIL AND RADIATOR FLUID AGAIN... I HIGHLY RECOMEND TRYING SOME.. YOU CAN GET 6-8 TRIPS ON THE REDLINE OIL AND WHEN YOU CHANGE IT IT STILL LOOKS LIKE ITS FRESH... I USE IT IN MY TRUCK AS WELL AND THE WATER WETER MAKES THE TRUCK RUN ABOUT HALF AS HOT AS NORMAL PEAK PRESTONE OR ANY OTHER AUTOMOTIVE COOLANTS.. I SWEAR BY IT AND WONT USE ANYTHING ELSE..THEY ALSO MAKE OIL FOR THE SHOCKS AND IT LASTS 10 TIMES LONGER THAN MOST OTHER PRODUCTS OUT THERE

Washburn
WELCOME HOME SETH. I LOVE YOU BROTHER. Premix I use Maxmia Castor 927 It burns clean so no carbon build up and has a very strong film strength so it will keep your pistons/Crank lubed at all times with absolutly no worries. I switched from Yamalube 2-R Witch is also a good premix if thats all you can get, get it. No worries. I used Yamalube 2-R in my LT250R For 10 Years with no problemos! Gear/Clutch Oil I use MOTOREX FULLY SYNTHETIC 30w it is a superior Oil and the 30w Flows better IMO. Use 1.5 Quarts that is plenty. Alot of guys use 2 quarts each oil change. That is not a good Idea. It builds up to much pressure and it doesnt flow as well as it should. Yamaha Manufactures suguested 1.6 quarts 1.5 is fine that way 3 quarts is 2 oil changes. BelRay Gear Saver 30w is also a good Oil. Yamalube 4 30w is fine too for your trans fluid. All 1.5 quarts http://www.ktm-parts.com/Merchant2/merchan...t_Code=36030002 This is the Shit! Stay away from the Car motor oils espicaly the Synthetics Like Mobil 1. Even if they state they are safe to use for a wet clutch it will more than likely soak into your clutch lates and make it slip and end up costing you new plates mabey more and instalation headaches. For Radiator Coolant I Highly Recomend to stick with a 50/50 Blend like Maxima 50/50 or Honda HP 50/50. Its cold in main so you will need the antifreeze. When it gets warmer you can go to Engine Ice if you choose. I am going to try that this summer instead of the usual Maxima 50/50 to see if I can see a cooling diffrence in the warm/hot weather. DOT 4 Break Fluid. Buy 2 or 3 and Bleed your breaks to make sure the break lines are in good working order. Clymers Manual will give you all of the specifics. You have one. Read it all. 13bturbofc
be sure you use antifreeze do not use any special stuff like water wetter anywhere where its cold it will freeze up

13bturbofc
so should i drain my engine ice for the winter and put in some 50/50 mix from wally world? im not sure if all those special types of coolant freeze but i know some of them freeze easily you may want to read the container and see what it says
