xsinnerx
went riding today in the sand with my shee that has tr6 pipes and the jet kit , and foam filter that came with the pipes, air box removed, tors removed, and i have a barnett clutch, other than that my shee is totally stock. i lined up with a guy that had a piped 2007 lt-r 450 with a cherry bomb, the area we were racing i would say is 4-500 feet, we raced about 7 or 8 times with him winning every time by about 1 or two lengths. i would get him everytime out of the hole but at about half way he would pull even with me and eventualy pass me. I did a lot better than i thought i would against his lt r450 since i'm a newb and he has been riding for years. I plan on getting a noss cool head, v force 3 reeds advancing my timing 4 and getting a f.a.s.t. dune port, unfortunatly jeff is going to be a lil too busy for a while so i'm going to have wait till later this year for the porting, but i'll be ordering my head, reads and timing plate in the next week or so, so my question to you guys is, with the head, reeds and timing plate, will i be able to beat the lt-r 450 if he stays with the same set up??? and how would i do against a piped yfz 450??? thx guys. RoostRocket
my shee has t5s, vf3s, cool head with 18cc domes, welded crank, kn pods, and it smokes my yfz450 with lte exaust, hot cams, scary fast pump cover etc...(if i can get traction) and I have raced a few similarly modded ltrs and havent been beat by one. so im thinking if you get traction youll win just practice!!!! RagunCajun
with a bone stock ltr, it's a drivers race for me when i race one. I hear ported shees have no problems beating lightly mdoded 450's......

The LTR's are pretty quick if they have a pipe and a cherry bomb. I mean I can beat them easy put if you dont have any port or bigger than stock carbs I dunno caue they are a quick 4 poke imo
LIM_Whiteboy4life
What ever you do race on the street not like i did and raced on hard pack.......... the YFZ pulled around 5 lenghts and the LTR was about 1 1/2 but once it started hooking up around 4th gear it was even..... i had holeshot 22x11's rear and they had stock tires the LTR was stock and the YFZ was piped and maybe cammed...... damnit..... i bought his old YFZ arms for 25bucks tho hahaha
dajogejr
It is my opinion that a bolt on 450 should beat a bolt on banshee all day in a drag race, except for the top of top end. Equal skill riders of equal or similar weight. I thought I read somewhere a LTR450 with a pipe and cherry bomb was 45 to 48 HP, but I could be wrong. You'll get 45 or so out of a stock motor/stock port banshee with ALL the bolt ons. Porting done right, however...should allow you to pretty easily pull on a bolt on 450.... 06BaNsHeE
I have no problems beating piped yfzs.In fact what I do is go behind them when they start so they dont see me then gun it when they start and I pass them pretty easily. But there are quick. 4strokessuck
Add some tires to that wish list and may your dreams come true. Bolt it on and take off and blow their slip-ons off. Good luck.
r/atvshee
Most of you probably arent going to believe me, but I beat a cherrybombed/pipped 450 on our ported 250r. But then again the guy had gecko's on but he was also abit more lighter than i was.

hawk363
I know that i absolutely smoked both an ltr and a honda 450r this weekend on pavent ment from stops and rolls. Didnt have a problem at all beating them, i have t5's k&n jetted and reeds but they were stock so it wasnt tooo fair
bansheeryder_69
a few weekends ago i smoked two ltr-450's with full yosh exahust, K&N, and a efi controller. My mods are ported (poor port job), 35mm carbs, cpi's, coolhead, an k&N pod filters with a lightened flywheel.
woodro77
i have raced a lt 450 with a cherry bomb and yosi pipe and it was very fast , it was a very close race almost even , but i have more top end so i would pull on him at the end if its a long race. my brother has a trx 450 with a hrc kit and it is very fast he used to beet me before i got my new carbs (30 mm) , now i take him by a bike or 2 , my mods are trail port , v force 3's , 30 mm pwk knock offs , +4 timing advance ,toomey t-5's , k +n no lid , so my banshee is pretty fast , i have no problems beating stock 450's but when they started adding mods they really are fast , i havent raced a 450 with a big bore kit yet and im not sure i want to. dajogejr
My buddy has a 564 big bore/big stroke Falicon crank/NMotion kit in his Honda. He also weighs a solid 300lbs. It's fast...but, still needs a little more work to get it's full potential. He thought that bike and my 4 mil cub would be a reasonably close race. Then he rode my bike. Even with me not being able to shift my old motor for shit, it'd still hand it to him. He rode it and so did rriggs, they both said the same thing, how the hell do you shift it (never had an override in it) and my answer was simple, I don't. If i would've had an override in it, it would've been an absolute joke. However....that being said, I think most of us are in agreement, piped/cam'd and jetted 450s are no joke at all. They are not ported banshee beaters...but, pipe for pipe, yeah, they're very quick. And suspended a HELLUVA lot better I might add!!
