I'm thinking about getting some new shocks for my 'shee. I've been looking at the works A-T steeler dual rates. they're around $360 for the pair which is right in my price range....anywhere up to around $500. anybody have these shocks or know if they are worth it? Any input would help a lot, my first experience w/ aftermarket shocks.

Idiot....I didn't even think about the elka's :wallbash: If I can find some in a good price range I'll prolly have to buy. Do you guys know any main difference between the Works and Elka's? or are you just going for the brand name? I know jack shit about aftermarket shocks.....

The work are made from steel and the elkas aren't so they stay cool better. Also the elkas are ride height adj, I don;t know if the work are. The elkas are also upgradable so you can add on compression adj ressiez later on

Just to clarify...the elkas are made of aluminum which is then hard anodized, therefore they cool better. And yes, the works shocks do have ride height adjustment.

yeah you should wait and buy the a-arms and shocks at the same time. Unless you buy the shocks right now for +2 a-arms but they will be stiff. But do not buy shocks for stock a-arms and then use them on +2s, it will be way too soft. I also suggest holding off till you can buy compression adj ones. That way the faster you get the stiffer you can set your shocks to be. You can get the elkas and then upgrade to compression adj ressiez like I said before though. I think that is the way to go if you are dying for new shocks.
