Need Help, Twist throttle

Recommended Posts

guys first off this is my first post. You guys have a cool group here.

Here is my problem, I bought a 03 banshee with a twist throttle. I am wanting to switch it back to a thumb throttle. Does anyone know exactly what cable I need. I have the factory thumb piece, but I have had people just say I need a certain cable to make it work now. Since there is already new tops on it. Any help would be great. Since I sent myself out in the desert about 50 yards yesterday. Didnt crash but I was holding on for dear life.. LOL

You need a banshee throttle cable for the TORS removed.

They make two throttle cables, one for the TORS and one without. Since I've never seen a twist throttle on a banshee that left the TORS intact....yours have most likely been removed.

Just about anyone carries that. Jeff @ FAST is a site sponsor, I know for a fact he does...

A local race shop or dealer to you should be able to get it for you as well....

awesome.. that is what I needed to know. Now when I put this on or have it put it on do I need to resync the carbs again? I have heard yes and no. That is exactly what I needed to know though. Once again thank you.

Yes. It's not difficult, there's a round see-thru "window" on the left side of each carb. Just move the throttle until you see the mark on the slide in the window on the left side carb, then adjust the right side to match.

Thank you guys on the help here. My neighbor and I swapped it out yesterday. He is very good with these bikes so he explained alot to me as we where doing it. Gave me a good walk through on it and why we did what. It is so much nicer having a thumb throttle over the twist though. Once again thanks for the suggestions.
