the boris Posted September 10, 2019 Report Posted September 10, 2019 Yes. I liked all my shee at +4. Noticeable difference.Did you have to increase your idle speed when you installed the plate?I use to run mine at 980-1000 rpm but now with timing plate installed I have to keep it @ at least 1150 but at 1200-1250 runs the best. SandSlingerOR Posted September 11, 2019 Report Posted September 11, 2019 No I never had to mess with idle after the timing plate install. 1 Quote
Deets Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 Can’t I just file the key? Instead of buying a plate. 1 Quote

the boris Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 There were even offset keys to buy few years back, not sure if you can get them now.Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk Quote
Deets Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 Just ordered a flywheel puller and a soft meteoric tape Quote

the boris Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 Only takes a minute to file one, I do it in saws all the timeJust be wary with doing it on the quad bike because it's not a chainsaw. With that said, on quad bike acceleration and deceleration is much more extreme than on the chainsaw. Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk Quote
the boris Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 Hard acceleration and deceleration with down shifting can even walk the crank open over time,so there is a chance to cut the key too.Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk Quote
the boris Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 I'm not saying don't do it, just make sure it's tight when you finish. Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk Quote

Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk I will disagree about the acceleration part, most of my saws run 14,000 - 16,000 rpm 1 Quote

the boris Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 That's why welding the crank is quite popular here. Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk Quote
Deets Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 I’ve sent small stuff to Falicon before, but heard they quit doing it. Maybe they still do multi-cylinder cranks? I can tig weld but fear drawing it out of true. Quote
