methyman
The way I read the rules methanol, modified chassis, wheeelie bar, any swingarm length, drag pipes, any manifold and carbs are allowed. Just basically stock cylinders with stock stroke. Edited March 8, 2007 by methyman
cam2
they are on page 1 of this thread not in detail. The way I read the rules methanol, modified chassis, wheeelie bar, any swingarm length, drag pipes, any manifold and carbs are allowed. Just basically stock cylinders with stock stroke. this is some what more detailed. modified chassis: to what extent? i'm assuming no after market custom frames?? to what extent can a stock frame be modified? takeing off weight is one thing, but can the geometry be changed? for example; can the front end be extended , etc......? i'm not trying to be an ass, i just want to know the details and the limilts of the class. right now i'm not able to get involved in a drag only shee. but, i want to eventually, so i can race and have fun. mainly to have fun and be some what competetive in a specific class. but i can't and won't spend the the money to compete in the big CC classes that allow custom drag frames and the big CC engines. i would like to but i can't and won't. i've been down there twice and i've seen the bikes that run down there. i have a 421 cub in a stock frame, i know that i can't compete in the "anything goes" classes. for one one i don't have an over ride tranny or a lock up clutch. plus i have a stock chassis with a +4 swing arm. i'm no fool, i'll get spanked. i don't expect to win a lot or if at all in the 350 mod class, but atleast there is some type of a more affordable competetive ceiling. where as in the big dog classes for the most part it's about what what you have to spend. i know that's not always the case, the set up of what you have in any class matters most, but in the open classes anything goes. i would like to eventually sell my cub jugs in order to set up my current shee to be more of a an over all rideable bike and then start on a "specific class" drag shee for fun. i need to have a feel for the classes that i MAY have a chance in. dynodon
You dont have to spend ALOT of money on the BIG cc motors !!!! I proved that the last race !! I only have a 421 cubby motor, and Spanked some tail off of the big motors !!!!!!

cam2
you can extend the frame or do anything you want, but the engine craddle most be stock i didn't pay much attention to the specific classes at the last race. i plan on going to the next one in april, if so i'll try to pay more attention to the classes so i can see what setups the guys in the 350 mod class are running. dynodon
You are right on the chassis part. If you found a true "drag" chassis used for under 3k your doing good, and I am NOT talking a duner that someone calls a "drag" chassis either !!! Yes, I do have some coin invested in it, But its worth it to get on it and HAUL ass !!!!

cam2
Jeff, i know that the times may have been hard to keep track of. but, what times did the 350 mod class run compared to the big dogs?
methyman
methy what class did you run in last time ? I ran my bike in the Outlaw class 551 and under class. I let one of the Georgia boy ride it in the 551 and over class and he came in second I think. I am doing a little tuning on my sons stock bike to hopefully be more competitive in the stock class. My boy also needs to sharpen up his riding skills and reaction to the tree.
smoknbanshee
551 and up class, I was running 4.03, 4.05, 4.13 550 and under class, I was running 4.18, 4.19, 4.25 350 Mod class was probably running 4.5's In my opinion, 350 mod class is more competitive than the pro stock banshe class.
