spike
im in the process of polishing my cylinders alongs some other misc parts, and was thinking about painting them in high temp clearcoat. i dont always ride in clean conditions and im looking for a way to keep them from tarnishing. anybody ever tried it? i've seen it done in a truck magazine with billet wheels and thought about aplying it to the shee. bansheeryder_69
My buddy had it done to his swingarm on his cr250, looks saweet but i think you have to use a special clear coat not sure though. if anything you could try it out on some smaller parts and check your results before doing the cylinders. jbooker82
You could aslo have them clear powder coated as well.
FireHead
You could aslo have them clear powder coated as well. I have done both. The powder coat is alot more durable and is less likely to make the polished part look funny. Obviously not every has access to powder coating. The clear coat works well too, but you need to pay special attention to the type of paint you buy as many of them do not stand up to heat cycling. You may also find that the clear voat looks bad down in any tight crvices on the part.
GFB
Glisten PC, a product from the guys at POR 15. Awesome stuff for clearcoating metal. Won't chip off.
