bansheepartsguy
I was curious if anyone would know what exhaust setup would work best for a 10 mil stroker, 70mm piston trinity big bore kit. I will be running race gas, 35.5mm mikuni flat slide carbs, v-force, 36mil billet intakes, lockup clutch, ect. I want to run an out of frame drag pipe. Should I get big or small bore pipes with this setup? I think it's round about a 470cc. CPI or Shearer? Are ftz pipes any good? RDZ? Also if anyone has any for sale I might be interested...Thanks, Lance
race-a-holic
I have a friend that put an FTZ pipe on his' quadzilla. He wasn't impressed at all with it. CPI makes a good pipe. If I get another banshee,I'll definitely get shearer pipes. They are the best pipe I've ever tried.Top end is awesome with the shearer. If your porting is matched well for them....Shearer small bores definately! cant beat the price either...Jim
dajogejr
on a 10 mil with 70mm pistons, I'd be getting big bore pipes, Shearer as well. I'm putting bb on my 10 mil cub with 68mm pistons. I have a friend that has Chrome CPI out of frames with silencers, big bore, if you're interested.... majicmike
With my porting at sea level up to where I race the small bores made more power on my 10mm super cub 72mm bore but every motor is different and you really should try pipes that you friends have or get used ones till you get ones that work best with your port work. Used pipe can be resold at little or no loss to you
420 RACING
I have a 10mil cub that I have run all summer with great results These pipes are great. On big bore Shearer. both out the left or you can get them 1 out each side. With or without removable stingers or silencer's. Heres a pic of mine SHEARER ALL THE WAY!!! bansheepartsguy
I live in utah and ride at the little sahara dunes. I think the elevation is around 4000 feet. Will this make a difference in my pipe choices? I understand what the purpose of the expansion chamber is, but because I am putting out more exhaust does that mean I need a bigger chamber? majicmike
If you ride at that altitude( Not trying to put anyone down) you must likely do not want to mess with big bore pipes. What we have found here 5280ft-8500ft is that the big bore likes the flats but when we go to big hills i.e. sand mountain the big bore has a bog that you WILL not be able to get rid of. Not only have I had this problem but kim @ K&T and lyn at L.C. Performance has run into this as well. Many people have been testing the RDZ small bore pipe in this area with great results. Only one bike out of 5 did not like the RDZ pipe ( That bike was home ported) Also the shearer small bore made .5 hp less than the RDZ but did not have quiet the over rev. Here is some other interesting Info lyn @ L.C. performance has noticed that the colder weather we tend to deal with @ our altitude the cpi small bore makes more power below 70 degrees. He thinks it is do to the metal thickness on the different pipes. The cpis are thicker and tend to hold a bit more heat (this will also help you bigred). I have not had a chance to test that yet but I will here soon. If you have any questions feel free to ask
