FireHead
Yeah, whatever you say bro.. That dyno is a pile and you know it. It cost somebody $25k used. Yep, a real nice piece of equipment. :shoothead:
ojcool
You're right, your shiny blower makes alot of noise at the end. I cannot deny that. I can say, however, that the horsepower figures that you got from the dyno are more than likely only about +/-40% accurate. Really, you want to put some money on tha.. Cause I would glady Clean up the video and show exctly what the made... You know what, if you worked at a dyno shop, like you claim, you would know these numbers are easily attaible.. Funny how you never asked what was done to the cars, just that it was bullshit. Yeah, you worked at at a dyno shop....

Yeah, you worked at at a dyno shop.... I don't car what the car was. It's a late '80's to early '90's Mustang with an iron lung (probably aluminum) on it. Sure the number are easily attainable, but I certainly would go showing people that video to prove it. That particular dyno is more useful as a tuning tool than anything else. I would be suspect of whether the brake on that dyno can hold the torque and horsepower you're putting out. Did you horsepower figures keep going up significantly as you contiued to run on the dyno? ojcool
Brake dyno.... Well you pretty much answered your own question.... It's not a brake dyno...
ojcool
And there were TWO cars on they dyno. 91 S- trim. And a KB -03 mustang. But hey, you work at a dyno shop you should know that...............What exaclty do you think was done to those cars to put up the numbers I CLAIM they made... ojcool
BTW- whats and "iron lung". Cause that was a victor Jr intake.. If thats what you mean.... But you worked at a dyno shop so you already knew that.

ohiobanshee
Oj you just showed me how stupid you are. Iron lung refers to the supercharger, the brake on a dyno is what puts resistance on the roller to measure horsepower. But you already knew that seeing as you are so smart. :shoothead: Let me guess the mods on the stangs, baffels removed from the exhaust, and oj's special airfilter lid mod. :yelrotflmao: Dumbfuck ::

But you worked at a dyno shop so you already knew that. I never said that I worked at a dyno shop specifically. I said I worked at a dyno shop or sorts. Our dynamometers are just a small part of what we do. FYI: an iron lung is a term that some of the older (at least to me) dry lake racers and drag racers call a twin screw, roots style blower. I believe (correct me if I am worng) that the term originally comes from the crank driven blowers that came on the Allison, Packard, and Rolls Royce Merlin engines from World War II fighter aircraft (the housings were made out of cast iron). FireHead
Whoa, careful, you don't want to push too much information at the kid all at once, he might go through a melt-down. My bad. I was trying to keep it at a high school auto shop level, but I obviously wandered from that. als660r brings up a good point. Did ojcool ever get his bike on a dyno? Did ojcool ever get his bike on a dyno? Yeah wtf did this mustang bullshit come from? Wasn't this about some dyno #'s of a banshee? I'd go back and re-read through some of the other posts but all the bullshit would clog my brain up right now :shoothead:

I'd go back and re-read through some of the other posts but all the bullshit would clog my brain up right now :shoothead: It apparently came from the following: ojcool had apparently got into a heated discussion regarding the role of a dynamometer with dajogejr. Some how that wound up with ojcool stating that a dyno was the end all, beat all, tool performance characterization. During that part of the discussion it was brought up that ojcool had run a couple of Mustangs on a dyno. Fast forwarding a bit, dajogejr brought up the previously mentioned scenario and ojcool arguing with him about something regarding a dyno. I then made some sort of remark that stated that I might know something about dynamometers. ojcool apparenlty doubts that, and made a video, of what I assume to be his Mustang, appear. That pretty much gets you to where we are now (please correct me if I paraphrased any part of the discussion incorrectly). On a better note, you ought to go back an read some of this thread as it is fairly entertaining. I believe a Wookie and Rocky Balboa were even mentioned. :yelrotflmao:
