ClimbAnyHill
i like the cascade one becasue they have the rubber to help absorb some of the viberation taking strees off the welds on the pipes but they are rebuildable unlike stock hangers becasue they have two bolts in them that you can use to refassen (sp?) the hangers... I agree, go with the cascade ones, all problems solved.
ClimbAnyHill
How about the rear hangers, should they flex?
Trick2stroke
Choped out the thin metal gus on frame-welded in a tapered frame clip from a stock car-shaved a rubber boxs mount from a pickup-and got cascade hangers. solid as can be but tons of flex for no stress on anything. worth the time and effort. what the hell? I'm having trouble understanding what you're trying to say. Sounds like Cascade is the way to go. My stockers are pretty weathered, I'll probably be investing in some. .
the rubber is there for a reason. I ran solid hangers for a while and it vibrated my bike apart. The seal on your exhaust port is meant to flex....thats why its just held with springs, and your pipes arent bolted to your engine. The rubber is there to keep the vibration from running through the frame as much as possible. For some reason, the farther it gets into the pipe, the more it reverberates, kind of like a shockwave spreading out I assume. When I ran the hangers it started vibrating bolts loose all over my banshee. I actually called the yamaha dealer asking for torque specs on the bolts that vibrated loose (its been a while now, forget which bolts exactly but it was bolts that went into the frame), I torqued them back and they'd vibrate loose again. I eventually went back to stock hangers. Someone on here was making ones with springs that looked really nice. Cotton Eye Joe? If you're running solid hangers, I'd go over all of your bolts a lot more often and check for them being loose. Personally....I'd advise against it

baddsheee
What do you guys think of these hangers I made for my new Shearers. Made them out of stainless and they don't need a stack of washers to offset the left pipe. There are no pipes between the frame or the pipe. I just threw these bolts but I will replace them with stainless also. With the stockers my pipes vibrated, the Shearers don't move for shit. Check them out. By the way, these Shearers :woot: are a world of difference.
