floyd398
My father got a jardine 4in. turbo back exhaust for his 7.3 powerstroke f250. I think he paid about $350 for it. Nice easy fit too. Edited February 22, 2007 by floyd398
bansheeryder_69
do not get the flowmaster, all you are paying for is the name, get the off-brand same stuff. Then get the banks chip w/attitude monitor, and k&N intake then water injenction, lock-up torque converter and a bran new rear-end :shoothead:
Animalman294
The edge products work really good on the CTD, but I heard that they don't always get along with the Duramax or Powerstroke's. I think Bully Dog chips work better on them, but as far as the exhaust the name brand half the time is not worth paying for......................
Screamindemon350
Thanks for all the advice. I ended up buying a summit brand exhaust. It was only 312 shipped to my door. It took about 2 hours to install. Half an hour to take the old one off and an hour and a half to clean the rust off the down pipe flange so the clamp would tighten correctly. It sounds a lot better and it seems the the turbo kicks in a lot faster. Very happy with it so far have to wait for the programmer.
DIRTMAN350
As a GM tech i can tell ya that with a improperly tuned dmax with a chip does some serious damage. I have seen it first hand. Make sure at least put a egt gauge in to mointor your exhaust temps. If you still have factory warranty you might lose it if the dealer finds out you had a power up device on it. Personally I'm strongly against power up devices but to each his own. I work on dmax's all day long and they are strong engine. Had a customer install a chip on a lly motor and burnt down two holes in the block. melted the tops of both pistons and scored the the block. That little repair cost him his job with the company and he had to pay about 15,000 for a new motor plus labor. If you know how to use the chip wisely you might be safe. KX4FIFSHEE
I'm a duramax tech at a gmc dealer.... be careful what you do. You are limited to 100 extra hp on the tranny. i run a 4" all the way back with hypertech on 3. NO PROBLEMS. Go mild and just get an exhaust with hypertech and you'll be fine. As mentioned before an EGT gauge (pyrometer) is a must !!!!
