i understand i wont be beating a hooked up banshee like a 7 mil. but i would be looking to race a 4mill banshee when i get all my mods. i have a 10 mil 2006 se banshee. my 450 wont even face that direction. but then again i dont like 4 stoke when it comes to my banshee cause their a waste of time but i raced my 450r with my 10mil banshee and im suprise cause the raptor 700 cant beat my 450 and its all stock. a couple mods will do 4 a raptor to catch up raptor is no good no more like how it use to be. i like 4 stroke cause its fun to ride and do tricks

Unless you dump thousands upon thousands into that 450, it won't beat a properly tuned 4 mil cub on gas. OEM cylinder ported good won't be touched either.

A stock 700 raptor should walk that 450...not by a lot, but it should beat it stock vs. stock.

bad..

You sound JUST like me and my buddy, I swear. Not fair to take a bike made in 98 and compare it to a bike only made in 04...and newer.

Start with two 06 models, and it's closer. But, your arguement was my argument too....I bought my 96 bone stock for 2200 in 05.

Figure my buddy paid triple that and then some for his brand new 450 in 04....

Again, I'm not disagreeing with you, I've said what you've said...but, I can see both sides of the coin....

for the record, including suspension, I have more like 10 or 12 in mine. I have quite a bit more in my motor than I'd like to admit. My cam/headwork combo set me back $1200 alone. Then the $250 piston and $200 for the boring/plating of the cylinder, another $400 for the carb...

$ for $, you can't beat a 2 stroke twin!!

I could take $2000 and build a killer duneable Banshee motor that screams.

i got an idea.... lose the POS honda an get a banshee... or atleast buy a YFZ

ridin a hondas like the special olypics.... even if u win ur still a RETARD :shoothead:

I guess Joe Byrd and John Natalie are retards since they've both won ATVA MX titles on a Honda the last 2 years, not to mention it's also won the BAJA 1000 every year since it came out in 04. It must be a POS :shoothead:

John Natalie rode a YFZ the year before and switched to a 450R, won the title that year. I'm not saying it's all bike, but pair a good rider with a good bike and you've got something. As far as baja goes, they pick the most reliable machine.

it's ignorant to think the bike has NOTHING to do with it. Think 45% Rider / 45% Bike / 10% Luck. :thumbsup: The secret is in making the best of the rider and the bike, then with consistency, luck will pay off. These guys have mastered it. Yes, they can win on YFZ's, LTR's and TRX's but that's mostly because the quads that are out today are far superior to what they used to be, better geometry, more travel, more controlled power, so they can really master the consistency and reliablity.
