1.) ok first when i got my banshee back in oct the guy i got it from told me it needed to be rejeted & i kinda knew that because it would blog out in 1-3 gear then kick in real fast in 4-6 gear & it idals find so i knew my jeting was off, my shee is lightly motor modded, it has 34mm mikuni carbs & i run uni filter clamp on`s (rest of mods in sig). Anyway i think my carbs have the stock jeting that comes with that size carb witch is:

main jet:260

pilot jet:35

needle jet: Q-2 (159)

jet needle: 6DH4

2.) i am looking at a stage 3 jet kit by dynojet that says its for banshees with mildly tuned machines with the airbox

removed and K&N individual air filters. May also be

used with a good aftermarket exhaust system

witch is what my motor is. & i wanted to know if that kit would work? or if it does not could you guys tell me the size jets i need

here the link for jet kit

That kit will not work. It's for stock carbs (26mm)

He's right. You will need to order the proper jets for you particular carbs. I cannot tell you what jets you will need as I am not very familiar with the aftermarket Mikuni carbs. I do know that if you don't have aftermarket pipes on it now, the larger carbs could simply be the reason that it doesn't run properly. Your symptoms seem to be pretty much in line with that as well.

The larger carbs are killing you...your shee can't flow enough air w/ just pipes to get those carbs to work efficiently enough...I dynoed a set of 34's on a piped shee years ago and lost 8hp from the stock 26mm carbs. The larger carbs will only work w/ porting...

I wouldn't run 34's regardless of mods.... largest I would go for my personal bikes is 30mm but for stock and stock / ported, a set of 28mm's or stockers bored to 28mm work ideally, unless you want to go to a 2 - 1 carb setup.

come on man, where you been... or more like where have I been.... :shoothead:

Yep, been running the 450r for a while now. Banshee's been gone for a good little bit as well... :banghead: I surely wouldn't trade the 450r for my banshee, but I do miss having a banshee in the stables. I'll get another one very very soon!

I see your running PT Highs now. I got the chance to run them for a little bit before I got rid of the banshee and I ran then back to back with the PT Mids I raced with for 4 or 5 months and I have to say the Highs were the best pipes (seat of the pants) that I ever had on the bike, for my ride style. Still had good low and a strong mid but revved out great and super smooth. I really like them and will get another set when the next banshee crosses my path.
