jkross
OK...here's me swallowing my pride - one for the, "how to make an easy job hard," file: When trying to change the oil I: 1. Rounded the plug - got pissed. 2. Tried to break it loose with a chizzle and failed. 3. drilled the plug. 4. Pushing too hard, drill bit broke through then broke off inside my freakin motor!! AAUUUGHHH!!! 5. Re-drilled with bigger bit. 6. Used an "easy out" - BROKE THAT OFF IN MY DRILLED HOLE!!!!!!!!!!! 7. Got Super mega ultra F'ING pissed!!!!!! 8. Took out anger and beat on chizzle harder. 9. Plug actually broke loose and I removed it. Now boys and girls, I have a drill bit inside my case. OH..I forgot to mention that it's on my kid's Blaster. If it were my Shee, I could just take off the right (clutch side) case and see through to the other side and fish it out with a magnet. However, the blaster case makes that impossible. So, I need a freakin' miracle. My thoughts: 1. Call all my buddies to see who has the smallest, most flexible magnet and try that. Didn't work. I need one that goes to 90 instantly after going through the hole. 2. Shop vac - bring it closer to the opening with suction. This really sounds stupid - but I'm gonna try it anyway. 3. Take engine out - shake vigorously, trying to coax the bit toward the hole...then somehow use a magnet to grab it. 4. Take the entire motor apart to get the damn thing out. You can imagine how much that prospect thrills me. SO, here's hoping that you all have some bright ideas on what I can do / try to avoid ripping the thing clear apart. The hole is just so damn small, none of the magnetic devices I've found even come close to being small enough or flexible enough. Thanks Edited February 13, 2007 by jkross
yamaha04
well i would try to get some thin oil thats is going to run fast to pour in and hope it grabs up the bit and washs it out the drian hole. im trying to think of something else you could use other then oil thats would be thiiner more like waster that would hurt your motor. or maybe the thicker oil will grab it up ? worth a try lol
dawarriorman
Get a big enough magnet and you should be able to get ahold of it through the bottom of the case, and drag the magnet (and the drill bit on the inside of the case) towards your new drain hole. And don't work angry next time.
FireHead
I don't know much about Blasters, but you can try what I did when I kept losing the nut off of one of my bike clutch adjuster down in the side cover. Cut part of a cheapo refridgerator magnet to suit the siz hole you have access to, then epoxy or hot glue that to a coat hanger or a semi-rigid piece of wire that you can customize, after that you should be ready to go "case fishing." If that doesn't do it, then try jiggling the bike around before you take the motor out of the frame to shake it. A blaster can't be that heavy.
Animalman294
Yeah, the magnet may work, one of those big speaker magnets............... I have seen those kinda fiber-optic viewers that people use to look into small holes in walls. You may be able to use one of those to see the bit and push it around with that.............. Good luck man...........
375hp banshees
take A flexable piece of steel of your choice (wire?) bend the 90* that you need & get it where you need it & put A magnet on the wire & drag it out... hope fully you have relaxed because it will take patience
brock_fuzzy_69
if you were going to try to flush it towards the hole with a liquid i say diesel or kerosene i would think that a very large magnet could attract it and bring it towards the hole a nice set of tweezers might be great to i think you can get 90 degree tip tweezers like the big long tweezers that are 6 8 inches long

dante
Ok, here you go... Take a coat hanger and magnetize the end (just set a magnet on the tip for a few mins.) and put that in the case and you can bent it to any angle you need. Easy Fix, Been there done that... Stand By... i would put a temp plug in the hole and fill the case with kerose gas diesel then unplug hope for the best and start fishing mabe you could look up how to make a electromagnet out of the coat hanger hope for for the best ps blaster case tear down == kind of a pain
gregbowler
put in a magnetic drain plug, then shake the bike then slowly remove the plug. Hopefully the drill bit will be stuck to it.
ClimbAnyHill
How about getting one of those magnetic drain plugs? Put it on shake the bike around & hope the plug grabs it. Remove the plug & it should be right there!

fastrthnu
Id make an electromagnetic hanger fisher with some solid 18 gauge copper and a few d batteries just becuase it would look cool. Magnetic drain plugs should be in any motor anyways.
