Hey guys I have (mods below) and I think my filter set up may be hurting me but i dont know how much here is what i have. I have a pro design foam filter in the stock air box. Would getting K&n Pods help me out quite a bit or not. and if so what size filter should i get (how many inches for the K&N's)

Hey man! I'm no expert be any means, but I'd say get the K&N 8" pods from FAST. I noticed a big gain on my stock drag ported jugs. Better air flow for sure.

thanks for the replies guys I have another question now. I want to use dual stage foam filter's with velocity stacks instead of K&N's cause my builder said my engine will last a lil longer with the foam filters over the k&n's. Said the K & N's let in more crap than the foam filters do. what do ya think?

I had the Uni pods and Uni prefilters on my 97 before I did the motor. They worked fine, but the cleaning was a lot worse for me. The sand sticks to the foam a lot more then the K&N's. You have to clean them a lot more then the normal pods.

cool I think thats what im gunna go with. I believe if im cleaning the filter more then that mean they are catching more crap that is not going into my engine. Just dont trust the K&n's for the Shee. I would rather get 1 mabye 2 less Hp and catch alot more crap than flow that much more stuff through my bike. I hope to get 3 years b4 I put a new top end in it but i would be happy with 2. Cause I know when I get my Dune / Drag bike this fall im gunna be doing it every year.

or you could just cut up your airbox and still utilize the pro flow adapter.

this will keep the weight of the carbs on the front airbox supports and you will have an open filter and not have spent any money.

i had a Toomey filter that i slid over the pro flo foam filter (the pro flo filter was old) thats why it is red, then i bought a precharger for it.

i also put some stainless allen head bolts on the top and bottom so it is sealed tight (~$0.40 each at ACE)

works great

if you use a precharger, dont use any oil.

if you dont use a precharger, use some foam filter oil.

dont forget to check plugs, might need too rejet (more air=more fuel)

the switch should be there tomorrow.
